*Spoiler* on the location of the 3 items.***Thought I'd throw this up for discussion:
After nearly (15 days x 4-5 hours) my characters
finally got up to around level 15. By that time
I had in my possession the fake Astral Dominae.
I had not yet been to Mt. Gigas or Marten's Bluff.
I decided to try to power through the game.
Upon meeting the Don in Trynton, he talked too
much, so I killed him. (Difficult, as he's so
quick. Lots of repeated healing and stamina spells
while he ducked and bobed, and I occasionally knifed
him.) With his death I found the real Astral Dominae
on his corpse.
Then on to Marten's Bluff. Down to Lower M.B.
Met Z'Ant. He was hissing too much, so I killed
him. I then discovered on his corpse the mook-t'rang
alliance letter. Took it to Arnika, entered the
Mook HQ, found the Chaos Moliri. Switched the
fake Astral Dominae for the C.M. On my way
out, met Urq. He talked too much, so I killed
him. (not really...)
Next went to the Mine Tunnels, entered Lower
Marten's Bluff from there. Met lots of
T'Rang. They all 'watched' too much, so I
killed them. Got Marten's Idol upstairs,
then over to Crock to get my kidnapped
character back. Crock was a major slime
ball, so I killed him. Then I took the
idol to Trynton, gave it to the Shaman,
and went to the Rattkin Tree for the Helm
of Serenity.
I took that directly to the Sea Caves.
Entered Marten's crypt. Met Marten.
He was too mopy and whining on and on
about 'oh what a thing to know all...'
Yeah, yeah. If he wasn't already dead,
I'd kill him.
Anyway, he gave up the Destinae Dominus,
and now I'm on my way to Ascension
Peak. (My characters are around lvl 20
now) I noticed that with this tactic,
you don't need to bother with any of the
Rapax in the Rift (although they strut
too much... I'd kill them if I were you),
or the Umpani, or any T'Rang-Umpani alliance
crap. Just kill them.
The only thing is that the tower in Arnika
hasn't been disarmed. But hey, I'm going to
be a god, and they're mortal anyway, right?
On a cosmic scale, does it really matter if
they live a few more years or not? And if
I get the forge, I suppose I could just rewrite
history if I chose too... So, I say let
the tower kill 'em!
Of course there is so much enjoyment in
the game to play it all out, but since
one must "Be the Ball...", i.e. it is a
role-playing game, I think my characters
would want to be gods as soon as possible.
Oh, and the Dark Savant? Well, if he's still
wearing the same cheesy outfit he had on when
he made the brief appearance in the swamp,
I'll kill him.
