"Battle generators"
Anyone know of some places in this game to rack up some extra experience points? Like the areas that Wiz 7 had.

1. "Monster central"
There always seem to be a lot of monsters in the Mine Tunnels area, where you find RFS-81, at the bottom of that long hill. I don't think there are any like in WEiz 7, where there are always-triggered encounters.

my party is at lvl 20 and the enemies in the mines are usually under level 10...its a small area too.

the swamp is pretty good for me. there are no difficult enemies there (other than the occasional high level horse or rynjin), there are lots of them, they spawn often, and most are quick kills...like the bugs. all give standard exp (usually 12-60k).

ive been to every "zone" other than the last 2 easter eggs, the wilderness clearing, the rapax areas and ascension peak...the swamp has been the best for *me* *so far*.

if you want to build up anywhere, turn on x-ray, hunt every last critter down and fight them like it was the end of the world (use full buffs, and all kinds of magic). then take a nap in the corner, maybe teleport to and from a town to sell the loot, and when you come back, there should be more spawns. this way you're constantly fighting, selling your gear, and increasing your magic skills. obviously if you need to increase non-magic skills, use lvl 1 magic attacks. they do squat damage, but you still gain skill.

Ascension Peak has the highest regeneration rate probably, and also the beefiest beasts...

In the sea caves, there's a chest that generates a ghost every time it's opened and every time it's shut. If all you want to do is rack up XP, go there and open and close it a bunch. (Make sure you don't get more then 20 monsters at once though, it seemed to cause my game to freeze.)

I suggest going to Trynton. There are frequent encounters there if you camp a lot, and the Tyrnnie Spearmen will often assist your party when nearby.

If you want TONS of exp, and are strong enough, go to Ascension Peak. The monsters are really tough though.

Swamp is good for a lot of 12-60k fights. For more fun (and XP and LOOT) stay at Rapax Castle without becoming a templar. Rapax drop loot like Higardi Highwaymen,Brigand,Raiders, etc.

One of the boughs in trynton has a ton of monsters in it, and they seem to regen quickly. It's the one that you can't use magic in, and leads to the 7th bough (maybe the 5th?)

Unless you used the incense that keeps the monsters from respawning...

the incense burns out after a while, so they keep on-a-comin.

10. "for mid-game - Bayjin"
I recommend the huts in Bayjin.

The big advantage is, that you can just close the door and rest in peace
The battles are long but not very difficult since you can fight your enemies one by one on the doorstep. The encounters mostly feature rock / curare crabs and ryjinn sentries and the last battles i fought there yielded 100k+ each.

Of course, Saxx and Vi won't follow you and you have to clear the village first, but otherwise a great place.

Ya! Bayjin is a great place to generate frequent fights. The crabs and ryjinn sentries arn't too difficult. You can get Saxx to go there if you first go there and set a Portal and then go back to get him and return to portal. He don't like it one bit, but it dosn't seem to effect his fighting or use of instruments.
You can also use the portal technique to get any other of the NPCs to go to other places that they don't like to.
Have a great day.

A quick and easy way to rack up exp is to redo the
Brekek quest. Set a portal at Crock and another at
the giant frog and portal back and forth for about
80K exp each time.

13. "Huh? Does portaling resurrect them?"
How can you repeat the Brekek quest once you kill him? What does portaling have to do with it?

One place there is a generator, though not much of a battle is the Trang exit ppoint from the mother ship ... you get Trang Younger popping out every minute or so ... hardly worthe the exp pts (or the wait).

I am playing unpatched for now. Everytime you go back to where the frog is, he is there again. Good for about 5000 when you kill him and 75000 when you take the frog leg back to Crock.

15. "Bug patched"
I'm not using either of the December patches
(where PPing is nerfed) so apparently the
Brekek bug was fixed as well.

16. "RE: for mid-game - Bayjin"
If you view the abilities screen after portaling in a RPC that doesn't want to be in that area you will see red bars. The length of the red bars indicates the amount of penalty your RPC is suffrering for being there. Once the character is out of the area the red bars disappear and the RPC is back to full abilities. The other thing you have to put up with is the constant whining the RPC does about being there. Gets to be very annoying after a while.
