"Stuck in Rapax Rift"
Hello,

I'm motorin along, and now i'm stuck in the Rapax Rift wondering what i've missed.

What have I done there?
Well I've wandered around killing a bit but I haven't gotten too far because there is a locked door at ground level that I can not seem to get by ( I assume that this leads to the castle? )

There seems to be an alternate route around the door because a cave in has opened up a hole in a nearby wall which now leads a little path to a hallway behind the door ( floor of new path is covered in lava ) but if I try to run down it, I am blocked at the end.

I have found one key off a dead priestess called the "Sanctum Key" but this does not open the door in question

How do I get thru here.

Use the forum "Search" function. It's been covered before, here and at Ironworks. Cause a cave-in. Sound familiar? If not, you haven't been looking at the messages enough.

Steve, next to the lava there are a couple pillars that are seemingly holding up the ceiling. Touch one of them and a second cave in will allow you to cross the lava.

I figured I'd save you the effort of "searching" the message board. As much as I love Wizardry, I also hated this part of the game. IMO, not very intuitive.

3. "Very intuitive!!!"
No way, I think this is a very intuitive and, well, kinda logical puzzle, but it has (like the catapult in Marten's Bluff) one flaw: the area that you actually can click onto is way too small. I had to use this board too to get past the door.

Kuli, That's really my point. I scoured the rift five or six times before I returned to that area and my cursor happened upon that area of the pillar that causes the cave in.

Plus, there's that gigantic room next to the lava that you might think has something to do with advancing, and it is completely useless.

Plus, there's a door that tells you a specific item is needed, when really you can't get anything to open it at this stage.

Plus, how many people tried to cross the lava more than once to see why they can't get over a stupid rock at the end of the tunnel. Frustrating.

I'm not saying I want the game to be easy, just a little more logical in places.

Don't even get me started on the Rune puzzles...

5. "Good idea - bad realization"

This pretty much sums it up, doesn't it?

This puzzle was the only game-critical-part where I had to use this board.
