"Questions.."
LAST EDITED ON Jul-08-03 AT 01:13 PM (Pacific)

Okay, I need to know this, peoples. My party is like levels 11-15 now, the lowest being RFS-81. ((At least, I THINK those are the levels. I definetly know that my bard and fighter are lv. 15 and the monk is 11, though.))

Human-Valkyrie-14
Dracon-Valkyrie-13
Dracon-Ranger-13
Felpurr-Ninja-13
Rawulf-Alchemist/Gadgeteer-13
Android-Monk-11
Lizardwoman-Fighter-15
Faery-Bard-15

Does anybody think I'm tough enough right now to take on the Rattkin and have at least a fairly good chance of winning in a fight with the patrols after killing the Breeders? And while I'm thinking about it, which of these three are the meanest, toughest, most likely to kick my butt horsies: Frightmares, Nightmares or Diremares, do Alchemists ever learn the Silence spell, and does anybody know what the bagpipes that you find in the SE Wilderness gazebo ((Next to the beach.)) are and do? My wulfie can't seem to identify them. Oh, and does anybody know how to defeat the Soceress Queen, two Death Lords, 5/6 Lesser Elementals of various types, and six Cultists? Thank ye for anybody who answers me time-wasting questions.

1. "Depends ..."
(on many things)

Like what spells you have available, what you have trained in (i.e. did your Valkyries train in spells or combat more, or balnaced), what items (potions, powders, bombs) you have available ...

It is plausible you can take them on at this level, especially if you use defensible positions and encounter smaller numbers of them.

I think the pipes are the chaos drone, but not sure.

The Sorceress Queen (and her entourage) are tough (to me, one of the games toughest battles, when you first encounter them) ... short of a lot of luck, I would think you need a few more levels. The death lords are the real killers (no pun in ten did ), with their spells. If you can resist those, or coutneract them, you can take them on.

Another trick here is to lure a few out at a time. There are a number of threads on this battle and how people go about it.

Well, my dracon valkyrie is mostly trained in fighting, but Vi does know a bit of healing, mostly just Heal/Make Wounds and a tad of Guardian Angel. As for everyone else, my Alchemist knows ((These are his best spells.)) Fire Bomb, Whipping Rocks, Crush, Acid Bomb, and Noxious Fumes. And I don't really have many powders/bombs besides the few I pick up here and there and haven't sold yet. I dun really do powders/bombs much, I keep forgetting I have them.

And come to think of it, I DO have a bunch of Cherry Bombs and Canned Elementals lying around.

3. "Now you are talking ..."
A few noxious fumes, should help incapacitate the rattkins. And the lasting effects clouds, like acid bomb, don't do much per round, but do add up.

Those canned elementals are the ones you may want to pop here ... though having more than a tad of guardian angel would be a good benefit here, too.

If you have a pandemonium powder (these can eventually be made by your alchy), that would really help.

The bagpipes in the gazebo are the Chaos Drone. With them you don't have to make pandemonium powder as the pipes spell is pandemonium. Re. the queen first round eye 4 eye potion soul shield amd element shield. Then after they have destroyed thier ranks with their own spells cast purify air to get rid of the cloud spelss and resurrect your killed comrades with resurrection powder and use the chaos drone. move in and beat the crap out of them.
