"Solo-ing"
Yeah, I know, I was gonna do the duet party but I wanted to just TRY the solo FN to see what it was like. It wasn't to bad at first but then I hit the small spiders (in the room with the button to get into the upper monastery) and in the first round I'm paralyzed. Reload. Second round, paralyzed. Reload. This time I get to the sixth or seventh round and guess what...reload. Are there really people out there who do this in Iron Man mode? I save like every three seconds for crying out loud I can't imagine how someone can do it without saving at all.
And do you work on one stat and spread the other three points around? Or two stats and forget the rest? Or just one to six different stats? I'm just trying to figure out what strategies have worked for other people.
And how about this, do you go with martial arts or take the dagger and faerie stick? I liked the faerie stick putting everyone to sleep but I hate not using the six points I start with in martial arts. Can I equip the stick in one hand and punch with the other or will he only get the one attack with the stick? Dang, I got a lot of questions today, sorry :-/
I think I'll go start my duet party now. That I might be able to handle

Sherrie
Haven't slept yet, why start now?!

Wiz8 is a totally Non-linear game. if you can't seem to get by a certain area now, come back later, after you have built up your skills, and maybe a level or 2.
or, go back to Burz, pherhaps he can give you some insight.
It's also a good place to camp. as having Burz fight, certainly helps your odds, should you have some unwelcome visitors.

as for how to use attribute points, many concentrate on 2 or 3 stats, to quicklier gain the Expert skills. for a Faerie Ninja, more attacks is good, so Speed and Dexterity are usually built up first. also helps since speed 80 = AC+1, and Spd=90 = +2AC

weapons - since you will obtain an awesome weapon, and a good sidekick, work on Dual Weapons and Staff and Wand
I think, for now, concentrate on Martial Arts, since it requires no Dual Weapons. This will build up Close Combat for later, and is a good weapon set, improving themselves with use.
later, you can equip a Faerie Stick or 2, and work on Dual Wield and Staff&Wand, as the powerful CoC, may kill them too fast.

OK, all this above made excellent sense to me except for the martial arts part. Seems like a waste to me to build up martial arts if I'm not going to be using it once I get the Coc. Not to mention that when I do get the Coc I'll THEN have to work on duel and staff and wand. If I forget about the six points I start with in martial arts and go with the faire stick and dagger to begin with I'll be working on staff and wand, duel, and close already. The only thing I wont be needing is the dagger skill but working on the other stuff seems to out-weigh that doesn't it? Or am I missing something?

Haven't slept yet, why start now?!

you will be using Martial Arts, at least until you get the CoC and rod of Sprites.
practise MA a little bit (lower monestary has plenty of punching bags), then try again.
some hold level ups, to practise their skills more, and helps with magic spells, as they can get some better spells to choose from. this may help, as then, the monsters won't level up with you, and you can then dispatch them easily. a few monster groups will be at a higher level, so leveling up is just delayed.
if you wish to practice those needed skills for later, 2 faerie sticks or other staffs/wands will do.
if you want, you can split the points up between MA, DW, S&W, and the various other skills as desired. most of us practice the skills, to alleviate this point distribution dilemma.
summing it up: MA for now, then Dual Weapons and Staff&Wand later, for the CoC.

My party of three recently became cosmic lords but i felt they need a fourth guy up there with them so i started a solo game
wanted a bishop but it was too damn hard to start as one. after 2 failed attempts i decided to start him as a fairy rouge and practice stealth before switching to bishop. took me a whole day fighting bats and green slimes to get stealth to 100 but its worth it! base ac is now 15
when i hit 100 it was time to level, i was a level 1 rouge with about 43k xp... leveled as much as i could which got me to level 5 bishop, took only charm and iritating skin and went on to burz for a little mental spell workout.
i also managed to level again and took insanity which would be a big help at the upper monastery and on the way to arnika. from now on no more spell picks though, saving them all for level 6/7 spells... guess i'll just have to make a lot of potions and buy the spells i need.
only thing i think i did wrong was level too much after switching to bishop, monsters at upper monastery going to whoop my ass...
