"Another "new" item ....."
I was playing the other night and came across an item I had not previously seen: Helm of Insight. I have been playing this game a long time (about 2 years?) and am really surprised when I see things like this.

A fw months back I got a Beast Ring (or something like that), when my party had some of the furry races (felpurr, rawulf). It has been a long time since I have seen a Serpent's Tooth and likewise since I have had a Dracon or Lizardman in the party.

All this makes me really wonder if there is some modifier to the randomness of treaures, based on party composition ... (I know, sounds like something rbrown would say ) But, we have seen other similar suggestions/musings/thoughts that we made in the game (monsters adjust to level).

I do seem to remember that parties that have faeries rarely see spider silk drops, and those without faeries are drowning in them. I don't remember seeing the Helm of Insight but have seen the Ring of Beasts a few times( Tryniee can use them too). I have never seen a Serpents Tooth.

BTW, I have gotten the Ring of Beasts without having a Felpurr, Rawulf, or Tyrniee in my party.

2. "Did you have a Mook?"
I think it is good for them critters as well (since they are furry). And, since we are guessing anyways, it may be that there is a minute chance to get any item, but when the party has the right follks, the chances are increased.

I suppose one conspiracy theory is as good as the next

Nope, no Mook. I don't think Mooks can use it. Don't really remember. Might fire up one game and see.

4. "How about the Ring of Felix?"
I saw that on Analander's site, though I have never got it and the other site that lists where you can get items (cpommer's site) doesn't list it.

I thought I had a screen shot of the Ring of Beasts stats .... nowhere to be found.
