"Trynton Bridge ... ?"
I posted before asking for help fixing the bridge. "A specific item is needed here." A couple of guys replied, giving me subtle hints and not just telling me the answer flat out, which I thank them for.

But, I still have not been able to find whatever it is that fixes the bridge.

* Minor, minor, minor spoilers below *

Let's see. Someone said, 'yeah, vine and wood, keep along that track'. I tried the coil of spider silk I found - no good. Maybe taking apart a long bow? Nope. There must be some fairly obvious item lying around like 'planks' or 'rope' ... but I haven't found anything that blatant. I actually found some keys to open some things back in Arnika and the Monastery, so I went back in the hopes of finding a wooden plank. I found some neat stuff, but nothing to help me fix the bridge.

So, here's my question: is the bridge-fixing item somewhere in Trynton? If so, I pretty much need to know exactly where as I think I have been through the entire area. Today I finally was able to kill those three giant trees near the seventh bough and very disappointed to find that they didn't actually have a Bridge Repair Kit in the room behind them. I haven't crossed the bridge, of course, and I haven't been in that locked building with a pedestal out front, because I haven't found anything yet that obviously goes on the pedestal, which presumably will open the door, but other than that, I think I've been everywhere. I must have missed something: what is it?

If it's not in Trynton, is it in Arnika, the Monastery, or the cemetery near Trynton? I think I have been all through all those areas, so if it is in one of these places, again, please tell me right where to find it because I must have walked right past it.

If I should just leave Trynton and keep exploring the world for new locations, and will find the bridge-fixing item later on, let me know and I will just come back to kill the rats, etc. later.

Thanks again
Zombra

You need vines to fix the bridge and you find them in Trynton. There is a room where you have to fight a few creatures and at the far end of the room (which is covered in vines btw) there are two columns with a statue in the middle with vines crossing over it. Click on the vines - you will get two of them. Merge the two pieces together to make a vine rope. Use this on the broken bridge - it will fix it.

** HINT **

You won't find the item here, but there are folks here you have to meet, who give the path to find it.

I assume you mean that across the bridge I find clues as to unlocking the pedestal, and not that I find clues at the pedestal to fixing the bridge. The only guys I met around the pedestal were patrolling Trynnies.

By the way, even though this will now be 'off topic' since this is the Hints, etc. forum ... I kind of want to say out loud since none of my RL friends play this game and I have no one else to tell ... the Trynnies are great. When I first started hearing about them in Arnika ("cute, lovable little kleptos"), I thought, ugh, these guys are going to be insipid. But the voice actors actually make them lovable! The director didn't tell them all to just be cute, squeaky little thieves - the individual Trynnies have actual personality traits! The Chief is sober, thoughtful, well-spoken, and even a little grim while being cute. Madras is distracted and snide at the same time while being cute. Even the guards project a sense of optimism about their duties though it is clear that beneath the confidence, each has considered the possibility of dying in the line of duty (all while still being cute). This was really well emphasized when I went into a building and found two guards pinned down by like five Rapax - and was only able to save one of the defenders.

Maybe I'm projecting too much thought on the part of the designers (I, as a huge Jagged Alliance fan, am predisposed to adore everything about this game), but it seems to me that the Trynnies are brilliantly realized.

On top of that, I even find it difficult to dislike the Rapax after meeting one, since even he was sympathetically portrayed (as evil megalomaniacs go).

I too found myself fond of *most* Trynnie. Later on, I think you may find one so annoying it will be all you cand do to not just throttle that tittering little ....

And you will probably find some Rapax that can change your mind about them as well.

Ok...I found the vines...now for the really dumb question - how do I merge them together? (I do not have a gageteer (sp?) in my group)
