I am as Ascension Peak with mmy solo FN. The Cane of Corpus is most necessary in my view. I would have given up ages ago without it. However if you are patient enough
you could get through with it.
Magic - Very important. I put my level ups into Strength and Intelligence. And pumped Stealth, Alchemy, and air, water, earth as seemed appropriate. Magic gives the ability to
a) range attack, fire, bomb , stink bomb, etc, cut your oppenents up a bit before they get near you
b) Summon Elemental - ie an extra fighter for your party,
c) heal yourself
d) Element Shield - very handy
e)knock knock - don't need to pump locks and traps
Intelligence makes magic learning a quicker exercise, and helps you "train" your Ninja. Therefore your resistances increase more quickly as well. Make sure you get that 5 pt intelligence bonus in Trynton. Power Cast will become available to you and make your spells even deadlier. Power cast helps overcome enemies resistances if they have them.
Once Strength and Intelligence are maxed work on speed and dexterity. If you are not going to use the Cane you might not want to pump strength. Depends on your strategy.
Pumping Alchemy - allows you to merge items as well, HV heal and HV stamina makes a Potion of Restoration - very handy for a solo player.
You need to train your Ninja. ie
- cast spells from different realms during battle
- Heal yourself magically all the time, that will pump divinity for you, and stamina helps ther water realm for a while as well.
- cast knock knock at every opportunity
when you have a group of monsters "beat" practice spells on them - ie target a level 7 spell that only selects one monster etc.
You should stick to the "walls" going to Trynton. There are heaps of V shaped slots that you can slide into - only allows one monster to attack you at a time. You can also put an elemental in front of you and watch him work, while you train your magic. Same strategy for the Northern Wilderness.
Get the cane of corpus from Don Barlone at all costs. A tough battle that will test you out but then you have some options.
A FN with the Cane is a powerhouse, particularly with well dveloped magic skills, without the cane a bit of a wimp. Thats why at least having the Cane of Corpus as an option is critical.
Remove curse scrolls can be purchased from Lord Braffit. Don't worry a solo character has few money problems. Particularly a FN. They have very limited options as to what they can buy in respect of weapons and armour.
