"high level class changes"
could someone please post a link to one of your hint sites for this or give me some pointers?

lord
valk
fighter
mage
ninja
priest

all are nearing lvl 20 and skills are maxing out their spell levels (i think)...most have 5-9 spell points saved too. suggestions on what classes to swap to if any?

should i swap the lord, valk and ninja over to magic classes for *one* level (not all at once)..just so they can redeem their spell points for higher level spells?

should i change the priest over to a lord? i'd lose turn undead, but i have tons of banish spells, and turning really doesnt do a heck of a lot.

thankee

oh! one more thing...my ninja w/ a skill of 40ish alchemy cant combine a lot of junk ive seen posted here for skill 30. do alchemists have lower requirements or?

Unless you really want a hybrid instead of a pure magic class, don't switch to hybrids, you'll have to level up a bunch before they are effective again with magic. I would highly recomend switching your pure magic users to bishops once they've learned 7th level spells. That way you can start learning all the 1st and second level spells. With very little practice you can shoot your magic skills up in the other spell books and get tons of mana because you get more mana with each new spell. I found that switching lords/valks over to fighters was quite effective. They level a bit faster, can still cast spells well, and dish out TONS of damage. I wouldn't change Samurai, Ninjas, Rangers, Monks or Gadgy's because you lose too much on the change.

ooooh, i didnt know lords and valks would keep their spellcasting as fighters...
-is there even a DOWNside to changing them then? considering a berserk fighter does insane damage.
-should i use up all the spell points i can first?
-and FINALLY, whats the highest spell lvl for lords and valks?

mage -> bishop makes sense.

if i change my priest to a bishop, how will that change his equipment? eg he's not gonna be as tough as before, i would assume? right now he cant dish out the damage, but he can take it pretty well.

lol sorry about all the questions, but i wanna do this right the first time...i dont have the time to re-play this game with school and work unfortunately.

thanks again

I wouldn't do mage --> samurai, you will lose all of your magic punch with that change for the next 4 levels. Instead, do mage --> bishop and start learning a ton of new spells.

In the lord/valk --> fighter change, your fighter will be able to cast spells at the level that you could cast them as a lord/valk, however, he won't get any better. I don't really see this as that big a deal, because the high level priest spells aren't that great.

You will lose your health regen and bonus to dual weapons, for the Lord. You lose Cheat Death and Polearm bonus for the Valkyrie.

On the upside, you get stamina regen, KO bonus and berserk attack as a fighter.

i could care less about health regen, or the weapons bonuses...both of my chars have those maxed out, respectively. cheat death does kinda suck for the valk, as ive had mine, and vi both saved by it, the one time each of them should of died.

new question:
any downside to switching RFS-81 to a fighter? monks arent really my thing. my ninja already does 6 some hits a round via martial arts, and instant kills one person a fight. RFS cant use decent armor as a monk or magic as a 'droid apparantly. i figured i could throw more plate on him, and train him in dual + blunt weapons for this diamond thingey i keep hearing ppl wet themselves over.

You can't change RFS's class. He was created as a Monk and must stay a monk, unlike all the other NPCs. The only way to change his class is to use an editor.
