Willow (115 posts) Jun-04-01, 03:56 PM (Pacific) "BaneEdit(c) v0.1" here is the first version of BaneEdit(c), my Bane of the Cosmic Forge Character Editor. please take a moment to download and run the application. i would be so happy if you would take the time to play around with it and give me some feedback. you can submit your feedback in the form of ICQ, email, or (with Llevram's permission) this forum. currently, v0.1 supports opening BCF savegame files with exactly 6 characters. v0.1 supports viewing any character's base statistics. the save feature has been and will continue to be disabled until a beta version is released. i will continue with development (slowly, due to other priorities) and will post updates. again, any kind of feedback is appreciated. thank you! "a direct question..." ...to throw out to the public: what is a better upper bound - the max number of digits BCF can show you, or the upper limit of the variable that stores the data? for example, the base statistics STR - KAR run from 0 - 20 (legally) so BCF only shows 2 digits. the variable (unsigned char) runs from 0 - 255. should i limit BaneEdit(c) to 0 - 99, since you can only see 2 digits anyway, or should i let it run the full spectrum of 0 - 255, which would result in your characters having base statistics all displaying 55 (but still equalling 255)? confused? me too. "RE: a direct question..." i totally agree with you - for my own personal use, i doubt i'll ever raise my character's stats or skills above 20 or 100. however, i want to steer clear of "smart programs"... you know, programs like a certain text editor that always converts my *'s to bullited lists, capitalizes my lowercase letters, and changes my quotes to angled quotes. catch my drift? so, in an effort to not thwart anyone else from maxing their character's stats and skills out, i think i'll be leaving it in for now. BaneEdit . . . your Wizardry VI - Bane of the Cosmic Forge Character Editor. download and run the application to see the new updates. v0.2 displays all character skills - weaponry, physical and academia, as well as the swimming skill and the secret personal skills. again, any kind of feedback is appreciated. thank you!
