A friend gave me the game without comment. I now understand why. After 3 hours play, I brought my character to the point of being 'converted' to a vampire. I took a break there. The next day I loaded up the game and by accident, hit New Game instead of Load Game. Not wishing to start over, I quit WITHOUT SAVING... or so I thought. Turns out, the New Game, all 13 seconds of it, had been written over my old game. I sent a nasty note to the V:TM folks asking for my game back or my money back. This was a week ago and no response so far.
Upshot. It's a very linear game without much lee way as to what YOU want to do. When you finally become a vampire, you find your powers aren't any better or more than when you were human. Most of the decisions are made for you by the game... a narrow path to follow.
Advice. Find a LARP (Live Action Roll PLaying) group in your area and join them. V:TM, in my opinion, is a waste of time, if not money.
I returned the game to my friend, without comment.
