I see you have windows XP
for smaller screenshots, press F9, in readme.txt
looks like you edited them. AC LO + 9999+ HP

yes i used hex edit. in wiz 1 i set the strength to FF (255), thus i can deliver two thousand damage in a single blow. with katino in effect i can kill werdna with four thousand damage. i can also cast all spells 255 times instead of 9.

it took me quite some time to figure out the structure of the save data.

takes 1 ms to destroy the fun
I could do the same thing, in 5 seconds, without bothering to whip out my hex editor and searching through a big honkin mess of numbers.

I wonder what achievement do people see in hex editing (or otherwise cheating) big numbers into a savegame.
I do not have a problem with honesty/dishonesty etc., but it simply very quickly destroyes the game. I remember destroying the first RPG I played (Betrayal at Krondor) by exploiting one in-game bug to get a lot of money.
Yes, it was COOL (perhaps for an hour). Then I became bored with stupid fights with easy monbsters (I had everything) which had nothing worth (I had a lot of money).
I finally abandoned the game... Since then I cheat only when it is really necessary (something is extremely tough or there is a bug) - perhaps twice during the last four years.
I wonder whether the author of these screenshots finished (or will finish) the game with that super hero party.

I think it's the fact that is is a quick and dirty method, to get stronger characters. though there are legit uses.
think about why Llevram has his own Wiz7Edit. if need be, he can get you past the buggy section of a game, like Barlone's Treasure, which few people seem to get, and fewer have the money for it.
Cheap and easy. people like it when they can sit on their behinds, and have their own characters fully supered up.

You get bored when you win every fight, others get bored if they don't win every fight. And cheating has many shades of gray ... if you don't agree with all the rules of the game, and you are the only one playing, why not bend them to your liking, especially after beating the game by, on its own terms.

Is there nothing in these games that you think should be changed, to make it better?

well i beat this game back in 1981 when it was on apple. i remember that i killed wernda without having learned malor/tiltowait yet. so i was stuck after killing werdna and i didn't know how to get out of the maze.

two decades have passed, and i've mastered almost all versions of wizardry (apple, pc, nes, snes, gbc.) i've no better thing to do other than creating immortal characters by hex editting.

you know, in nes wizardry they've taken the fun out by only allowing werdna be killed once. so i have to discard the amulet everytime after i killed werdna.
