"The Beast: Chapter 5, levels 33-38"
The group began to grow wise to the fact that I had placed them in the Ukpyr space-time-continuum loop for quite some time(about 15 levels); besides, they were becoming hoarse from shouting all those obscenities at the rhinos.
Their confidence was high, they were quite cockey accually. So, I decided to let them have another go at the Beast.
We transported back to town and dropped by Father Rulae's to have a chat and some refreshments before we set sail towards the Beast's lair.
I could tell that, though their spirits appeared high, they were beginning to become edgy as the time to face the beast drew nearer. Sampson(the Felpur Samurai) pointed out that things were not divied out evenly between the party. Bickering amongst the group ensued! "Hey! Save it for the Beast you guys!" Lizzy(the Dracon Valkyrie) shouted. She was always good at bringing the group back down to earth and on task. Sure, Brucely(the Fairy Ninja) was the "official" leader of the lot; but they all knew who "accually" wore the pants in the group(Ebony Plate to be exact)
So, to make things fair, we picked up a couple more light swords so "everyone" could have the same weapons.
"Now, don't forget to equip your bat necklaces and make sure your Cobaline-P-Gloves are fully charged! And Byron(the Gnome Lord): Don't forget to wear your Necramatic Helm!" I reminded them as they cast off for their date with destiny. Perhaps I do mother them a bit; Deep down I knew they could look after themselves!

Upon reaching the entrance to the Lair of the Beast, a sombering hush fell upon the group. "All for one and one for all!" Brucely stated as they redied themselves before entering the dreaded lair. "Don't worry, we got your back!" Lizzy said in reply. They all knew, in the back of their minds, that this was a suicide mission; and they may not all make it out alive(at least not without my intervention)

They entered the lair and executed my plan almost perfectly:
Brucely cast create life while the rest took cover. Battle ensued. The Beast struck back with screams. "That was easy!" Sampson whispered. "Shut up you fool! This is only the begining!" Danny Elfman(the Elf Ninja) whispered in response. And Danny was right. Brucely began wailing away at the
Beasts while the rest of the party cast Bless,Armormelt,Antimagic, Draining Cloud and Firestorm repeatedly. Meanwhile, the groups pet Godzillas stomped and breathed fire at the Beasts; and also divereted some of the attention of Beasts away from the group. Things went like this for some time and the group had to throw some healing and curing spells in with the cloud spells. Then it happened, Sampson bit the dust. "We're doomed!" Mooky shouted(the Mook Monk, with the least amount of hit points in the group) "We are completely surrounded, they anticipate our every move! We gotta retreat!"
"Stay calm! Don't Panic! Mooky, cast a resurect spell on Sam while Danny I help out Brucely" Lizzy shouted back as she and Danny jumped out from cover and began their assalts.
It worked, well sorta, Sampson was resurected, but then Danny bit the dust and Brucely got stoned)
"We're not gonna make it!" Sampson screamed as the Godzillas bit the dust. "Now! Listen up soldier!" Lizzy bellowed "We are gonna make if we stick together as a team and remain focused! Zaphod would have never let us come down to this God forsaken place if he didn't think we were ready! Now you and Mooky take care of the wounded! Byron, let's kick some 1000 eyed butt!" Damn she was good! Even I was begining to have my doubts about their survival.
Brucley was sobered up an jumped back to the front of the battle while Danny was revived and cast another createlife to take some of the heat off the group. Then the unexpected happened: Brucely had killed one of the Beasts, and the group could see that the tables had finnally been turned! "Don't start the victory parade yet!" Lizzy's voice beckoned above the cheers of the others "It aint over till this fat beastie croaks! Let's clean-em up boys!" And they all joined in the fray, all wailing on that final beast.
When the dust finally settled, they all survived and all rose two levels. All, that is, except for Danny. "What's wrong with Danny?" Sampson asked. "I guess in the heat of that final battle he got stoned." Byron replied. "Who's Job was it to make sure we all stayed well?" Mooky accused. "Don't go pointing any fingers Monkey-boy! We were all involved in that battle together! We were all responsible!" Brucely exlaimed. That's when Lizzy interviened once again "Knock if off boys" She then proceded to revive Danny and asked how he was feeling. "Did we win?" Danny asked in a weak whisper. "Yes; we sure did Danny-boy, we sure did! But you all realize we will have to do this all over again, don't you!" She stated as she stared down each and every one of the boys with her eagle eye.
"That's alright Lizzy, you guys go ahead and advance without me. I'll be alright." Danny said as he began to perk up. "Oh No! All for one and one for all!. . . Right boys?" Lizzy Glared. "Yes Ma'am! All for one and one for all! Ma'am!" they shouted in unison. "Zaphod!" Lizzy commanded "Six ready to reload sir!"
I couldn't help but be proud of the group that day! And what a fine day it was: I had finally achieved my revenge on the Beast! It has been a long and agonizing 8 years of trying, and the day had finnally come. I couldn't help but smile as I archived the savegame of the victory; and realize that Lizzy, not only had control over the boys, she had some control over me also.
As I prepare to reload and fight the fight of all fights again, a persistant nagging at the back of my mind continues: "Brian! Do something useful around here!" Liz(my wife) shouts "You've been playing that damn game for way too long! Ever since I've known you in fact! Are you proud to be such a Man-child!" So; I depart (for now) to go mow the lawn and putter in the back yard(at least I'll make it look like I'm keeping myself busy and useful)
