"Lanastashia is assembling a modders co-op"
Nothing official yet, but she and several others are experimenting with replacing texture files. She has created a Monastery-in-winter look, and others are experimenting with beach sand and rock walls. New animated water is the latest topic of discussion.

I call it a co-op because trading around the texture modifications is easier than trading bits and pieces of a monster-and-loot mod. No unique item numbers, just add some graphics to a folder and the texture is changed everywhere it is used.

I have to go over to the dark side to find out :-?

Well, I took a peek and tried tinkering with some image stuff .. but it crashed as soon as I went to access my change (changed the image for armet, when it is on the ground). Guess I will have to look into it further.

The acutal terrain editing is on hold. She has found that changing one of the TGA files will affect many different areas. Lana and MadGod are working on a way to assign a graphic to a single area/type.

That is why I tried to change the armet graphic ... but it is not so simple That, and the files are so dang huge ...

I can change the "dropped" texture pretty easily (once I do it right ) .. changed the armet (when dropped) from silver to bronze, with just replacing the name of the texture pic in the data.slf file ... the rest looks a lot more complicated.

Mad God released a new editor, it does allow graphics replacements.

Yep, but only for terrain at the moment.
For the items, monsters and location objects it would not be more difficult but require a time, nonetheless. Anyway this is not of a high priority, isn't it?
Especially being able to retexture monsters via *.mls scripts... and we don't see items' models very often ingame, do we?
