The fights aren't really harder, the game tries to balance the battles out with your party's relative power. Thus, a solo Ninja isn't so much a chore to play in this game as in previous titles. Since I don't know exactly what you have in your party, I'll just list some general shtuff.First, back yourself into a corner, or against a wall or cliff. Keeps them from flanking you, and tearing your scrwny magi apart. Start combat early, while they're a good distance away. Make sure you have your buff spells in place at all times (ie Misisle Shield, Armor Plate, Enchanted Weapon, ect...). Use this early turn (they should be outside of the range of most of your spells) to cast combat-only buffs, such as Bless. Use ranged weapons if they've the range, you'll probably miss, but if you do hit, it'll help a little bit anyway. Also, if you need to, heal any wounds that you can, though you really should have already taken care of that beforehand. Next round, they'll be within range of most spells and weapons. Use a Dracon's breath, the bagpipes you should have found earlier, and any mass-damage spells such as Fireball(yay!) Shrill Sound, Magic Missiles, ect... to weaken them severly before they reach melee. When they reach melee, I use direct-damage spells to help the fighters pick them off. Usually, the monsters are smart enough to move around you, and keep your cone shaped mass-damage spells and attacks from being very effective. Generally, if there are three or more that you can hit with a cone-shaped spell, go for it. Less and your bettre off hitting them harder with direct-samage spells. Fireball, of course, hits everyone except your allies in the affected range. So feel free to drop that right on your own heads if need be. "There's always room for jello. So says DOOM!"
