"So I'm not crazy... I don't think?"
Hey all,

Figured this would be the place to get a few opinions on this:

I've been playing Wizardry for... oh near to 18 years now. I'm 23, and one of the first games I ever played when I was a kid was Wizardry 7. It really sparked my interest in all things fantasy.

So I've been thinking about getting a Tattoo as a representation of that. A big extreme I'll grant you perhaps, but *shrug*.

I was thinking of something along the lines of Bela sitting on a throne with the Astral Dominae, the Destinae Dominus and the Chaos Molari forming a Trinity behind him. While he holds the Cosmic Forge and the book containing history of the universe.

Or maybe a torn page from the book with the words "Let Destiny Prevail" scrawled on it.

Or holding a *Light Sword*? See, I could use suggestions, and I thought you would be the perfect people to ask.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

... "it" being getting a tattoo, for any reason. My nephew got a couple, because, as he said, they "define him" ... sounds like your reasoning as well. His first was a skeleton playing a guitar .. so I asked, "are you a dead guitar player?"

Then he got his birthdate on his arm ... and decided to get some designs around it to pretty much cover it up ...

I prefer T-shirts for my opinions, because they are a lot easier to change, should I ever change my mind ... and an old T-shirt typically looks better than an old tattoo.

Tools for Wizardry(r) 7

I is TOO cowardly to get a TAT. I would love a pentacle on my left shoulder...but needles and me just do not see eye to eye.

I prefer t-shirts, bumper stickers...ooo and signatures. Although it has been years since I made those.

Ahhh well...

Here, here!
I second the suggestion of our illustrious founder.

@OP: Try something NONpermanent, first. (If it needs to be on your skin, try the Wizardry logo in henna.)

Try it for a VERY long time and see if you, and a string of future GFs (or the one, final, permanent GF) still like it.

Reason being: You are inclined to change, especially once you're out of your early 20s; a tattoo will not change with you.

Oh, the tattoo WILL change. Just not in any way you would like it to. Tattoos don't age well.

Wizardry's a GREAT game, one of the all-time greatest. CODS (Wiz7) revitalized my own interest, years after playing Proving Grounds (Wiz1). But let's place some reasonable limits on our devotion.

Or at least, give yourself a SUBSTANTIAL cooling-off period before doing something that cannot be changed (at least, not without a lot of additional pain and money).

If you still feel this way three years from now, go ahead. You're a responsible adult and may do what you wish with your body.

But don't be hasty.
