"A Draining experience"
I have somehow gotten a monk with a major case of "drained". How can one cure this?

Renewal potions will cure the 'drained' condition.

It's been reported that if you take a level-up during this condition your losses will not be recovered.

I can't verify this myself because I always cure it ASAP.

Can you get these Burz? I'm only on the demo and thus can't get to anywhere else. Also, when I level-up, it appears to be no problem, just is still drained...

7. "Permanent draining "
(If you are only playing the demo, don't worry too much about it)

If you level up while drained, you permanently lose whatever was drained from you. You always want to get renewed, then level up.

Also, Lord Braffit's healing pool in the Arnika Temple will cure 'drained' characters.

I tried this in the healing pool in the monestary and it didn't help.

Sorry, I've never played the demo of this game.

Not sure what you can do at this point.

I've never seen Burz with a Renewal potion for sale in the full version of the game. Then again, he's not a vendor that I normally visit. I only use him at the beginning.

I don't know about the demo either, but Burz sells light and moderate heals and cure light conditions. So if you're unwilling to leave the monastery (buy the game), and if someone with alchemy is in reach (alchemist/ranger/ninja) you could in theory mix a renewal potion yourself (with alchemy >= 50 that is).

I have played the Demo and I remember someone posting on one of the boards way back when that one of their characters were stricken with the Drained status and I remember there wasn't one thing that anyone suggest for that person. So I hate to say it, but since it is only the Demo: Start over and better luck next time.

I'm not familiar with that procedure (used to play Wizardry 1-4 on my apple, but haven't had been back for years). I have plenty of light, moderate and heavy heals, as well as cure light conditions. How would I mix a potion myself?

At the bottom of your screen when you are in inventory mode there is an icon for merge items. If ypu don't have an alchemy level of 50 you will be unable to merge the ingredients to create renewal potion or maybe in the Demo the Alchemy requirement isn't as high.
