"Once again, ninjas... natural ac bug?"
Okey, here´s the thing..

Dragon2k writes that a level 18 fearie ninja with speed 18 will have a natural ac of -7.
My level 15 fearie ninja with speed 18 has natural ac -12, quite good?!

The natural ac can be lowered several times, not only when gaining a level. Between levels, when you have increased your ninjutsu skill by hiding, you can lower it. Also, directly after you have gained level you can lower it. And of course, when gaining level, increasing your ninjutsu skill, you will lower it.

All you have to do is to reequip your ninja after he has gained a level, or between levels when you think he have earned enough skillpoints in ninjutsu. Just try often after battles etc.

So that seems to be a bug, and a nice one too!
So i guess my level 18 fearie ninja will have araound natural ac 14-15!

Comments?
Try it and you´ll see...

1. "RE: Once again, ninjas... natural ac bug?"
yes, that is true.
beyond +4 AC it doesn't really matter much.
not worthless to go lower, but the enemies will only hit you around %10 less often, and, around -5, you are practically unhittable. continuing lowering of AC still gives you more breathing room, as it helps insure you won't be hit
also, I never knew of the equip fixing AC. I'll try it later, when I have time

You are only as brave as the challenges you take on

Yes, try that... currently I´m playing with only two ninjas in my party. One fearie ninja and a felpurr ninja. The Fearie ninja really is great, almost never get hit!
I must say that it´s easier to play with two ninjas than a full party.. the first levels were kind of hard, but after that.....
Hiding and surprising everyone and everything... nice!

3. "Not much of a bug"
In my experience, the bug you are refering to isn't really a way of gaining additional ac reductions. The REAL bug is that when a ninja or monk levels up, the computer awards an AC bonus based upon the level but does not check to see if an additional AC bonus is due based upon Ninjutsu (every 10 points of Ninjutsu lower AC -1). When you "equip" such a character, the computer then looks at Ninjutsu and awards any extra AC reductions. For this reason, you should always "equip" ninjas and monks immediately after each level up.

NOTE: The level-up and Ninjutsu AC bonuses appear to overlap, so, for example, I have had characters level up and NOT gain an AC reduction because their Ninjutsu score had already given them the available reduction. I.e., a level 2 ninja is regarded as having a Ninjutsu of at least 10, therefore the -1 AC. If he already has Ninjutsu of 10, he does not gain an additional reduction.
