"CANNOT hit monsters in Bane"
Hi, I'm new to this board, and new to Bane as well. I recently decided that I would play through Bane, transfer my characters to Crusaders, and then transfer them to 8. However, I'm having some trouble with Bane

I'm running on an AMD Duron 600 Mhz, Win '98. I have Moslowiz, and when I play bane I run it at 1.5% normal system speed. In full DOS mode. I have ths sounds turned off (well, it dosen't work, just makes a weird shrieking noise when there should be sound... but I don't really care about that).

The program starts up fine, and everything seem ok, until I start getting into fights. Sometimes there is no problem at all, and the fight resolves normally. However, a lot of the time, it seems to be IMPOSSIBLE to hit the enemies with physical attacks. For example, I might enter a room, and have a pre-set encounter with a handful of rats. I can swing, and swing, and swing at the rats until all my characters fall unconscious *stamina) without hitting them once, and without them hitting me at all. The only way to resolve the combat is to use magic.

Has anybody else had this problem? Any advice on how I might be able to fix it? I'm really anxious to have a chance to play what seems to be a great game.

Thanks,

Elbkhm

1. "Just a guess ...."
But I would try it at a slightly different speed, maybe 2.0 or 1.7 ... ? I know when you start mucking with CPU timing speed things are not always 100%.

I remember someone else had this problem in the past, but I cannot recall what the solution has been. Maybe it was discussed in this forum earlier, you might want to take a look at older messages...

Hrmmm... oh thanks! I found it I had an older version and was using a program to crack the copy protection. It must have messed something else up too.

I've got a better version now, everything's a-ok.

why are you running so slow I have a pIII running at 808Mhz and run bane at 20% of cpu speed. I have no probs at 20% cpu speed.

My ninja really takes the cake. Begs the question: Where do you take a cake?

You know where I would take a cake? Down to the bakery to see the other cakes.
