"Mystery Menus - Version 1.1a"
I was just wondering if everyone is having the same experience as I am. I'm using version 1.1a of Wizardry Gold. When I access the MM (using U+left arrow) I get a total of 5 items. They are always the same no matter where in the Wiz world I try them. Once I drop the items I can no longer access the menu. When I pickup the items and assay them they are always the same. Unusable daggers, Names beginning with "] <" or numbers.[P>But, if I start a new game with the same characters, the MM works just like in previous posts (different items depending on where in the map you are. My question is: Are MM's doomed after you pass a certain point in the game? All of my characters were past level 10 when I first learned about MM's.

That sounds like the reponse I get from U < (less than) except in that menu I get a Light Sword plus other stuff. That is a one-time menu.

Have you tried u rightarrow, uparrow, etc ? Also, the direction you are facing (N, S, E, W) changes the contents of the menu. Try standing outside Thesminster Abbey outer wall. See if you can find spots that yield Spear+2 or Vorpal Blade.

I run version 1.0 and get great results from 3 separate machines. Other people have reported that the SAME installation disks produce different results on different computers.
