Hey all -I detailed my party in my last note, but a quick summary is:
13th G Fighter (to move to Lord next level, maybe)
13th N Fighter (Waiting to find that Thieves' Daggar)
11th G Samurai (Waiting for a muramasa blade!)
12th N Thief (Did 10 thief for HP, then 10 wizard - knows up to madalto, and now back to thief for good)
11th G Priest (Did 10 Priest for HP, then 11 wizard - knows up to lakanito, and now priest for good)
11th G Mage (Did 10 mage, then 11 priest - knows up to madi, and now Mage for good)
I've been anticipating moving the 1st Fighter up to Lord the next level when his luck gets high enough. But now I'm wondering, is it worth it?
For example, the Samurai used to be a fighter until about 10th level when I switched him over to Samurai to gain the mage spells. However, I've been very disappointed in how few spells he knows (only up to 3 3rd level spells at this point), and he's still significantly worse than the fighters in fighting ability as well (probably a combination of lower level and fewer ability due to the class change). However, I'm hoping I can find a muramasa blade and then he'll be worth it (?).
So now I'm contemplating whether changing the fighter to Lord really is a good idea. He's my best fighter and regularly hits 3 times for ~25-30+ damage. If I really want the priest spells, I could just change him to priest and very quickly jack him up to a level where he knows madi-level spells, and then change him back to fighter to get back the fighting ability.
What advantages would a Lord have over the fighter/priest/fighter strategy? I'm aware of Lord's Garb, but does that alone justify the change? Are there other advantages to a Lord? How fast do they gain priest spells, anyway? I really don't care much to have another Bamatu caster in the party.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Thanks!
