Guest du jour (4 posts) Apr-04-05, 06:40 AM (Pacific) "mad god: 1d19+7 ... are you *sure*?" My arm is almost falling off and I have not managed a 26 yet. Truckloads of 25s, but not a single 26. Is it just my bad luck? I'm been rolling Faeries (stop sniggering in the back row!) only, so I wonder if perhaps there might be a racial modifier applied after the roll to reduce it to 25? - this *is* highly speculative of me, I know. Anyway, Cosmic Forge is a *marvellous* piece of work so thank you very much for all your hard work, and I hope my enquiring about the improved algorithm doesn't seem rude, but I must admit that I am not experiencing true 1-in-19 probabilities of the 26 result.   Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

mad god (4 posts) Apr-04-05, 11:47 PM (Pacific) 1. "RE: mad god: 1d19+7 ... are you *sure*?" As far as I remember, faeries does not have any modifiers applied after bonus was determined. I played W7 recently. DOS version. Modified algorithm to get simple 26 bonus. Got it easily, and for faerie too. It'll happen much earlier than your stars or planets will position themselves correctly. It may be so. Their random function returns value from 0 to n-1, so I must have forgotten this while changing the code... (oops) I'll change it to 1d20+6, now it is 1d19+6 You are the first person complaining about that. I assume you are the first one using that feature.
