"THAT'S how the map works?!?!"
Well I finally got my hands on an old DOS copy of CODS, and I guess I never did get the map kit until I got Wizardry Gold. Well I was expecting a window to pop up, but no such luck. I noticed you can view the map, but it doesn't stay up while you travel.

I seriously don't think I can play this game now! I NEEEEED THAT MAP in a window.......ahh crap.

.....Help?

1. "spoiled, eh?"
yah, not til Gold was it possible to have the map open all the time
i went through CODS a dozen times or more with only the glance at map. It's quite a bit more realistic--try to picture yourself walking around town with a little map floating around in the corner of your vision. Well, i guess some cars have something like that...

Almost like going grunge - I just finished wiz8, I got this DOS version working, but not the mouse. Whoa, bigtime difficult. Talk about hooked on mouse power! Just started, tho - haven't yet figured out the map yet. (I'm back to mapping squares by hand on graph paper, just like in wiz6 - I am soooo bad at mapping! but it is *whew!* working!) H
