Now it seems to have a useable state, so here it is:

Wizardry Gold (and 7) Party-Rester - tool (for Windows)

what does it do ?

Press one Button and your parties stats are refreshed
to their (current) maximums - just like if they had
slept a while...

I didn't write this for cheating, I just don't have the nerves
to sit for hours and days, watching the health/stamina/mana-bars
grow veeery slowly. Thats's a bit like watching my lifetime
passing...

one place to download this program MAY (or may not) be:
http://people.freenet.de/neutrino/

It assumes that wizGold-savegame-files have the extension '.sgm'
and Wiz 7 files '.dbs' - I'm not sure about the second - so,
please tell me someone, if that is right...

(About the extensions)

I think one of the free editors out there already had this feature, maybe dscheat.

"I think one of the free editors out there already had this feature, maybe dscheat."

-> no, DScheat only has a command for setting all attributes
to their possible max:
- all Attributes to 18
- all skills to 100
- HP, stamina and all spellpoints to 512

my tool just does the same as a long sleep
(without removing ailments, though)
thus not spoiling the game that much,
it just saves your time and nerves...

oddly, Llevram's WizEdit does this, albeit unintentionally.
another editor does it to, despite the theft of Wizgold's interface; and I can't seem to find it anymore

>Llevram's WizEdit does this

... does it ? I didn't know that - I didn't inspect it
further, because it costs (a bit) money

my "Wiz7/Gold-Rest"-tool - on the other side - is small (and free) and It does just this one thing:

You can save your game, change to my tool, sitting in the
taskbar - click one button - and reload the savegame,
without having to quit Wizardry...

Hadn't noticed that before. Thanks.

It is right there in the documentation. I have to admit, I took a little afront to the remark that it was an unintentional feature (until I went back and read the documentation again. Glad I held my tongue on that one )

"Extensions"

I realize this is a really old thread, but I couldn't play the game without this program (I get bored watching them rest too), so I thought I'd give some info.

The original version /doesn't/ save games with a .dbs extension. As far as I can tell, there is no extension at all. However, you can force the extension yourself, by naming your games ___.dbs, and the rester will load them and work .
