"Two items Fero needs for goodies"
I apparently missed the obsidian when in the rift and have not desire to go back and look all over for it. Can someone please give me an idea of where it is?

Second he needs a ring of protection. Naturally I've long since gotten much better things to use and have sold them all. No one in Arnika has one for sale. Any good ideas on where one might find one?

Finally - bad luck but I have not gotten any good swords yet for my fighter. He's Still using the beast slayer axe and a hammer in the off hand (no light sword ). Is that ivory blade worth the trouble, will I find a good sword soon? My samurai has the blade Fero had in his weapon locker, still need a good weapon for the fighter!

Ivory blade is definitely worth getting. From memory I think it is up to 30 damage with +4/+5 for hit/initiative. My Lord was using it in his primary hand and Diamond Eyes in the off-hand. In one round on one strike I got "Destrayer hits X2 for 192 damage." He had strength and some magic buff for to enhance damage but still not too shabby!

I've had crap for luck in finding good random items. I have not found any diamond eyes, did not get the light sword nor any other interesting blades. I'm doing OK with what I have but was hoping to find a nice fancy sword for my fighter!

Still wondering if I can get a hint at where in the rift the obsidian is. Help?

3. "Obsidian & Ring"
I don't remember where the Obsidian exactly was, but as far as I remember, it was near the entrance, somewhere near the prisoner. But I may be wrong there.

I had to visit three or four traders until I found a ring of protection. Braffit in Arnika had one. Or simply recruit the Rapax Mage who waits for you in the room you enter after becoming a templar. He wears a Ring of Protection and he doesn't mind if you take it off his finger and then give him the boot Stupid him...

I'll check over where the prisoner was. the idea of searching the entire rift for obsidian is daunting!

Thanks for the hint about the rapax and the ring. I'm about to head in there anyway (was hoping to get a better sword first though).

Keeping Ferro alive is a fun prospect. He goes madly charing after 6 Samurai and some worlocks and I have to try to calm him down and drag him back to his shop. Pretty funny actually.

Thanks again!

5. "Sword"
If you break to the bank, go down and break into the huge safe (the one that has like 8-pieces lock), there would be a "Bloodlust" sword, which is a total kick-ass. My rogue had 46% lock picking skill, but it was pretty much impossible to pick it. Everyone else had 0% chance of breaking the lock...except of my fighter, who had 1%. I was trying to pick it while hitting it with a fighter once ina while. Luckily, i broke it from like 10-15th attempt

Good luck, you'll need it on this one

Just noticed your reply to get bloodlust. I used a much easier way. Get Anotone's bank card from his bedroom chest, tell bank teller you want to make deposit (or withdrawal) show card
on take elevator down. Do same with Hel'is and Anna's.

Enter Rapax Rift turn right - go to the end of the tunnel.

Coming out of the tunnel there is a pathway going up. look immediately to the left and you will see this shimmering object -the Obsidian

If you hack your way past the Sorceress and the Death Lords, go down into the crypt. Fang is fairly good as swords go. How come all the best primary weapons are swords? And what point is an axe (or any weapon for that matter) that can disease enemies? I got the plague axe and it does disease, but I kill stuff. I don't hit it and run away until it falls over and stops breathing. If we did, we would be called 'runners-away' not 'fighters'

Found the obsidian and the chain I missed and am now a templar. Now just need to find a sorceress heart for Ferro! Have not found any death lords or such in the castle or the rift (unless you mean the undead Rapax).

Still looking for how to get into the treasure room - so far have not broken down and "cheated" by looking at the walk through. Fighter has Ivory blade now, Samurai has bushido blade and that weapon you get for being a templar in his off hand.
Just one more good sword for my Rogue and I'll be SET!
Gadget guy, Ranger and Bishop backing up the front ranks is working quite nicely. Everyone has long range weapons and often kill the opposition before we even get into hacking range!

This blasted game is too addictive! I need a life.

9. "Heart and sword"
"Bloodlust" in the bank is a great sword for a rogue.
The sorceress's heart can be found in the s.e.wilderness. There is an epic battle in a cathedral - kind of building high on a cliff. Just follow one of the footpaths up the mountain. But prepare well: This battle's going to be tough! Took my Lvl. 15 party several attemps but it's well worth the try for you can find aforementioned "Fang" there as well.

Disease the Death Lords with a plague axe then run away? Sounds like a good idea !! I'll try it, with Viper Arrows for a chaser.

They aren't going to call us runners-away because they will be too dead to talk.

Disease lowers the enemies capabilities: to hit, to armor class, and to iniative, same as for your own characters. Also takes off hit points and stamina each round. Theses are good things. I wouldn't recommend waiting for any of the serious opponents to die solely based on this, but every little bit helps. Having a dangerous hitter miss once in a while and increasing your chance to hit (anyone remember THAC0) are benefits worth having at expert level.
