"Order of doing things"
I have completed the beginning stages: After the Monastary, I went to Arnika. Then I went back North & made alliances with Umpani. My question is: Is it feasable to go to the Mountain Wilderness and Martin's Bluff before going town to Trynton? or am I doing things out of order?

I realize the game is very non-linear, but I want to face the proper challenges based on my character's level.

If youv'e been to the Umpani's and are working for them, realize that the commisary sgt. is a spy for the T'rang. If you go to Marten's Bluff and align with the T'rang, you need to vist He'li to bribe her before she turns you in as a double agent. Trynton has some items you will need to solve some quests/puzzles later on, and if you have a faerie ninja you can get the Cane of Corpus from Don Barlone. If you accept helping the Trynnies get rid of the rattkin, you can build up some decent experience and get a few items for a bard if you have one. Also, the retro dungeon on the road to Trynton will give you good experience. Flaming schorchers and Rapax spellcasters might be a little tough for you right now (I'm guessing your about 8th-10th lvl).

Going from the Mountain Wilderness to the Bluff without going through Trynton is probably a bit tought at this point (although it has quite a few perks).

I usually go to Trynton right after Arnika (it's level of difficulty is comparable to the Umpani area, I suppose). Marten's Bluff is just beyond Trynton and the Swamp, so if you want to go there, you should probably head to Trynton next.

I mean, if you really hate Trynnies, then you don't have to, but it's definitely one of the "early" areas of the game.

The Northern Wilderness is connected to a couple other wildernesses that lead to the swamp and then Marten's Bluff, without going through Trynton (but that's really a bassackwards way to go).

Going to Trynton will also setup an event that helps (though not completely necessary) complete the Mook-alliance quest given by the T'Rang in Marten's Bluff, if you're interested in getting an alliance with them, as well as the Umpani.

So, uhm, yeah, go to Trynton. It makes sense

At that point, stopping by Arnika to do some trading with Antone. If you go to Trynton, then the Swamp, then to Martne Bluff (directly or Mine tunnels) you should gain loads of exp. points and pick up some new quests and clues.
