"If I stole Orb and killed mooks after getting alliance?"
If I stole orb and killed mooks after getting alliance will I have to start over. I decided after forming an alliance with the T'Rang and Upani and getting the exp for returning to both, to go steal and kill the mooks in town for the orb. I hope I do not have to start over as I only have the saves after the deed. Fingers crossed. I hope I don't run across a Mook town or something they might be mad, LOL.

Thanks in advance,
NizPin

As someone else pointed out, there don't seem to be too many repercussions if you want to be a rampaging reaver, killing and stealing everything in sight. Ethics has rarely been a serious aspect of CRPGs...

I wouldn't say that computer RPGs ignore ethics. There have been a couple which payed close attention to ethics and reputation. Offhand, Darklands and Daggerfall come to mind. In the sci-fi genre, the Fallout games cold be a pain if you angered the wrong people.

The problem is that designers don't want to box players in and make the game impossible if a certain NPC is killed. I can't say I disagree with that goal. In a tabletop RPG, the GM would have to do some fancy footwork to rearrange things after somthing catestrophic, but a computer can't do that. It has to have boundaries and only certain possibiltys are programmed in. I think the designers did a good job by incorporating the faction reputations the way they did.

I especially liked the surprise I got after joining the Trang and Umpani, then visiting the bar in Arnika

If you journeyed to the swamp and met up with the Dark Savant, you will notice he dropped a fake device. When you go into the Mook building just switch the real one with the fake, they have no idea and still like you

Hmmm a word of warning : I have tried stealing the orb before disarming the bomb (and yes, I swapped the orbs ;) ), then I returned later to Arnika I autoloosed the game, a picture popped up supposed to show the bomb explode and then "just" game over, dont know if it happend to other players.

I have stolen it from the mooks (killing them in the process) and done the switch-a-roo leaving them in peace (and a bit lighter) and never had the bomb explode because of it. Maybe I had already disarmed the bomb, but I don't think so, since that usually comes a lot later in the game (for me anyway).

The only time it exploded was when I went to go to the cosmic circle and had not disarmed the bomb. You get a special ending there.

i did the switch-a-roo much before disarming the tower bomb. the mook secret door slid open, the mooks said something, then the door slid closed again. no problem. no attacks.

The same thing with me ;)

The problem occurs if you return later to Arnika
