"**** Wiz8Patch2001_12_12_release.zip ****"
I just wanted to drop by to let you know that we have just released "Wiz8Patch2001_12_12_release.zip" to 3D Gamers and FilePlanet. I'm sure they'll have it available tomorrow (Wed, 12/19) for download.

Our thanks to everyone for their patience while we prepared this patch.

This patch includes all changes previously released in prior patches and it is not necessary for you to have any previous patches installed -- this one does it all. This patch is IMPERATIVE for all players. A full list of changes is included in the README that's in the zip file but some highlights are:

• FIXES SAVES that have been affected by the missing Mook Hologram bug (and eliminates the bug as in previous patches).
• FIXES SAVES that have been affected by the bug which caused Sgt. Rubble to lock you out of Covert Ops (and fixes the bug itself).
• FIXES SAVES where Vi gets placed in the Phoonzang statue (and also fixes the bug itself).
• It also includes a new 3DSetup, an update to Miles Sound System, and an update to the SafeDisc copy protection.

In addition to these save fixes and file updates, there are many other changes that are very important to your game. Again, ALL players need this patch.

I'd appreciate everyone's help in making sure this message stays at the top for a long time to come so that any new players visiting will hear about it.

Thanks much,

Linda Currie

Heh, I myself have 'favorites' links that lead directly into the forum and don't usually go through the lobby. I just lucked out coming in at the right time ... I was actually going to look for help with the Mook hologram bug

So, maybe bumping this from time to time will be helpful for some people.

I will post it to the wiz8 technical help, but has anyone else noticed the following:
After installing the patch, my game is automatically auto-saved (I noticed it during a battle). Now, I don't like auto-save and don't want to use it. When trying to change the options, however, I see that auto-save is off. Any ideas?

Everyone should also notice it makes some MAJOR changes to gameplay that isn't listed in the main part. You guys should really read the readme on it. Things such as:
-Quoted from page-
"Gameplay Changes:
- Toxic Cloud spell is now capable of causing Nausea, Poisoning, or Unconsciousness, as advertised in its description.
- Pickpocketing will now produce the exact same results if you simply reload & try again
- NPCs will now notice and act accordingly when their stuff keeps disappearing just after you've paid them a visit (successful pickpocketing is noticed - after the fact - and remembered).

- Monks and monk-class monsters will no longer stumble around while blinded (due to limited blindness special ability)"

8. "No one bothers with the lobby, so BUMP thread or make sticky"
This should be a sticky thread at least for some time. As for posting this in the lobby, I'd wager that most people who come here dont bother with the lobby, I might've gone there once myself. As for the non spoiler board, there are a lot of people who dont bother with it. Some of us are looking for answers in the game, and so there's really no other place except the "Spoiler" board. Anyhow, in other words: bump ;)

Is Toxic Cloud supposed to cause permanent nausea and unconsciousness?

My party members seem to only be able to be cured by a restoration potion or by visiting the healing water where Braffit is.
