"Giant Bat in Trynton"
Can you ever fight the giant bat that flies around Trynton? I have tried to get as close as possible and initiate combat, but after a round in which my characters can do nothing, it says "nothing to fight."

Sometimes you can. There are places where it will get close enough to initiate combat. I do not remember where those places are. I havn't fought it in a long time.

The Area where the pedestal is to get in to see Shaman Das is a really good spot. I've encountered the Giant Bat everytime I head over there in my first visit to Trynton. I had a party once that was highly trained in Stealth and the Bat never saw me, even while I was pelting it with arrows and stones and whatnot. Think I had to initiate combat several times because it kept trying to move around to find out exactly "where" my party was to attack. Hope that helps.

When at pedestal area, head toward storage room. The bat has always attack my group there. I'm in a new game now where for the first time it didn't happen, but I agree to go to the pedestal area.

I was just there last night .. he was flying around behind the shaman's hut ... I came out just in time to catch him as he flew by the other room.

I have also encountered him one time over by Bobo, outside the crocodiles hut.

I have always seen him by the shamans hut...

I used hypnotic lure to bring him to me, and them had a trynnie patrol near to help me pummel his butt..

i've always wondered about casting a boom bomb on the ledge with the open railing, early on in tryton. when i see him on the walkway is always near that spot, you know the one where you kill the acid vine type creature and pick the spear up?? that might work if youre not to the shaman part yet.
