"Soceress Queen...again"
Yup, problems with the Soceress Queen again. So, here's my problem:I go in, buff my party up with Soul Sheild and Bless, my alchy casts Quicksand which usually slaughters two of the Cultists and a few Elementals, my fighter drinks an Eye For An Eye potion second round, alchy casts Quicksand again, then when all the Cultists and Elementals go *POOf* I run up to the Queen so my ninja, fighter, and valkyrie can kick her arse and have my alchy Summon Elemental. Of course, there are always those meddling Death Lords who keep killing my ranger ((Who has already died eight times..I think he's suicidal..)) and random other characters AFTER Eye For An Eye wears off, and I don't have the spell and only Madras can use the Magic Mirror and I'm not trekking all the way back to Trynton just to get him. And every time I try the battle my ninja gets knocked out and so she can't play the Dulcimer of Mending and wakes up when there's only one other person left alive so she can cuss me out, unless said other person cusses me out first.

So, how do I kill those Death Lords before going after the Queen? I'v tried driving the Queen insane so she'll Firestorm or Fireball them, but she didn't and her insanity only lasts a few rounds.

I just fought the Sorceress Queen and the Death Lords. It was a very easy battle (and annoyingly so! I was expecting a much harder fight like the first time I went through the game.)

What I did was crawled to the edge of the door, went into battle mode and lobbed in a Death Bomb. After that I cast my Soul Shield and my Element Shield and then walked in. I took a bit of damage but nothing major. I then went to the first Death Lord and fought him. After beating him I made a run for the stairs. Once I was on the stairway the rest of the meanies ran for the door. After most of them had gone out I went down and fought the second Death Lord. Killed him. Went back to the stairs, healed up and then went in and killed the Mummies, etc and gained the items they were hiding. Then went back out, went to battle mode and fired off the Fire spell (the one that continues to do damage) and Acid Bomb and then went out and hacked and slashed my way to victory.)

2. "Go for the death lords first"
And you can try and silence them or counter act their spells. In my experience, they (and other opponents) tend you use their spells less, when you are in close combat with them.

If you dont' run in, but hide out side, you can perhaps wipe out the cultists and their elementals, then lure the rest of the baddies out 1 by 1.

If the bad guys (and sorceress gals) can't see your party (because you ducked around a corner) they won't cast those nasty spells at you, but you can still cast at them (through the doorway). You can also summon elementals, that will go in alone and whittle them down a bit.

Hmm..that might work. I don't usually try to duck behind corners/run off a little ways or whatever, I tend be more fond of death-or-glory charges. none of my chars know/can learn Silence, otherwise I'd've tried that long ago. I'll see if that works.

4. "What worked for me"
I killed the cultists and elementals first.
Then I killed the Death Lords.
Finally the sorceress.

My characters may be a higher level then yours though.
I did cast soul shield and element shield.
The bard instrument that uses Nuclear Blast worked well on the cultists!
Purify air also helps when those cloud spells are used against you.

My fight was surprisingly easy as well. I killed 3 cultists outside from long range and freeze flesh spells. I then snuck up to the entrance and with x-ray, saw that everyone was well to the other side of the hall. I actually walked in, grabbed the lazarus stone and turned to walk out before they initiated combat. I ran for 2 rounds with Queen and Death Lords in pursuit. Death Lord threw a death bomb at me and killed one memeber. After 3 rounds, they all stopped chasing. I resurrected the member, actually had to fight a few savant baddies on the path, then crept back toward the temple. Only one outside was the Queen and I silenced her, and killed her easily, got the heart. I then crept back toward the door until combat started then ran again for 2 rounds. 1 Death Lord came all the way out, as did 6 cultists. I snuck back up and engaged the Lord, ran for 2 rounds. He came down far enough, that I could go back and only have to fight him. I then went all the way up and easily killed the 6 cultists with area spells. Finally, I marched in for the last Death Lord.

You mention Soul Shield & Bless, do you have Element Shield and Armorplate? A Ring of Breezes will help keep the clouds away, keep playing the Dulcimer of Healing EVERY round. The only time you should stop is to drive the Queen crazy again. If you luck out you can Turncoat her as well. Take a round to have one of your fighters defend the bard while she does her thing if she's low on HP's. Don't forget Superman & Haste. Make sure your ranger has the best ammo possible to increase damage/instant kills chance. If all else fails, level up and try again.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-05-03 AT 03:17 PM (Pacific)

I have Element Sheild yes, but not Turncoat or Superman.

Anyway, I just finished killing the last Death Lord ((Yay!)) so I'm happy. I tried Llevram's idea, worked out well. Hid a short way from the doorway, cast all my buffs, killed the Cultists and Elementals as they came out, killed one of the Death Lords and then the Sorceress Queen, then killed the other Death Lord, collected stuff, and continued.

And, oh my yes, I like the Boomerang Shuriken and Fang muchly. And will somebody tell me what's the difference between a normal Mummy and the Scythe, despite it being slightly tougher? I've never even heard of the Scythe..

Sounds kinda cheesy, but, what i did was lure the knights out one at a time. i also lured the cultists out in packs of 3. to do this i would stand off to the side of the entrance and click on the combat button, then inch my over till i could just see a monster, then inch back over to the side of the entrance. one by one they were all snookered into coming out to play.
