"Races matched with classes"
I completed my first run of Wiz8 and enjoyed the game very much. Now I want to replay the game with different professions/races. Could anyone offer me some insight on the ideal Races to match up with the following professions:

Ranger
Alchemist
Bishop
Ninja
Psionic
Samuri

I don't think there is any 'ideal' races for professions. It will ultimatly depend on how you play the characters.

one example: i have a human alchemist, she is a sling/throwing expert along with being an excellent magic user. she can also melee pretty good, allthough, she doesn't melle much.

races I have used for the classes you listed are:

Ranger ---- Mook, human, hobbit
Alchemist - Human, felpurr, faerie
Bishop ---- Elf, faerie, mook( fun ), dracon(fun)
Ninja ----- faerie or dracon
Psionic --- Mook, felpurr, gnome
Samurai --- felpurr, hobbit, human

If you are trying for 'uber' characters you need to choose your races very carefully. BUT, if you just want to have fun, try some races that are not 'perfect/ideal' for the classes you want. I had a lot of fun with something like: mook bard, rawulf priest, faerie mage, human lord, hobbit ranger, felpurr monk. the idea of a 7' mook playing a poets lute make me laugh a lot!!

And look at the bonus points ... the one with the most bonus is most suited to start that class. But don't forget the specials for race ...

Anything mental or senses related the mooks tend to have high bonuses on, like Ranger, Psionic, Monk ... maybe Ninja to a lesser extent.

For me, this is how I like to do it:
Ranger- mook or elf. The mook gets the Giants' Sword, an extended melee weapon. The elf can get the elf bow, if you have an imported party. I don't think it's availible otherwise.
Alchemist, Bishop, Ninja- Faerie. Their generally good magic resistance and spell point recover is a boon that other races can't match, particularly if you don't have a bard or gadgeteer to cast the magic screen and armorplate spells respectively.
Psionic- have to admit I never bothered with a pure psi guy; I use a monk instead. The mook do seem suited for this job though.
Samuri- felpurr or human, although I have tried a faerie samuri (can't use some of the samuri specific armor, but Antone can take care of that).
