"Don resurrected!"
I thought I chopped up that rat Barlone on Guardia.
He seems to remember the affair as well, though he
doesn't hold a grudge. So did these vermin clone
another Don Barlone or what?! I wonder if Bela will
make a similar reappearance, though it's been quite
a while since I picked him off in BotCF (where did
I put that Fang!). Now the only elusive character is
the DS himself. I have scoured the swamp but he refuses
to show himself, the little chicken sh*t. Do I have
to read some sign or something? I need that fake AD.

1. "RE: Don resurrected!"
find fake AD in swamp or use portalspell in arnika/mookbuilding to escape with CM without getting them angry (see post posted earlier, use for example: Find: fake + portal)
Hope this helps

re: the DS & Fake AD

are you decently patched?

have you hired the Don to steal the real one? Dark & Grumpy will only throw the fake one at you if he gets it from the Rakuza.

also, time frames for him showing up are varied. in my games, he usually shows up within a gamehour, at the swampgas burn patch near that huge tree you walk thru.

others say he shows up different places in the swamp, with different time frames, but usually always near a swamp gas patch.

its worth a try, i guess. altho, hanging out by those exploding swampgas sites can get annoying after awhile. LOL!

good luck.

Vesselle is right. His darkness won't show up with the fake until you hire the Don to steal the real one. Once that is done the domed one will pop up near one of the paths not far from swamp gas in the swamp south of the river. He popped up one game I played just west of the steelhide croc and near the entrance to the tree tunnel another game.

DS finally made an appearance my second time through the swamp.
Went back and finished off the Don and his henchman. Much
easier getting the CoC from him than some other blind mouse.
MAnaged to filch Diamond Eyes as well. This thing does far too
much damage for a secondary weapon!

Diamond eyes is a mace and it is one of the better secondary weapons for dual weilders in the game plus it can be used by more races/types.

13. "DS shows up"
DS got in my face my first time through the swamp, and I had never met the ratkin. I thanked him for the fake, though.

One of my teams killed the Don before meeting the Dark Savant. He never showed up in the swamp. Fortunately someone discovered the portal spot in the CM room before I had to hostilize the Mooks ...

8. "Portal spot in CM room?"
What are you talking about? You mean you can teleport into the CM room? Or that you found a spot where you could cast recall after swiping the CM?

9. "RE: Portal spot in CM room?"
Several months ago someone mentioned that if you stand as far as possible in one corner (farthest from the entry, on the right) that the return-to-portal spell works. I have used it several times.

Hey, my thread is still active! Cool!
It seems there is no end to the characters who
return from the grave - the Don, Rodan, Bela.
Yamo is still dead, but I didn't do him. I suppose
if you don't ally with the Umpani in Wiz 7 you
just don't get to witness his untimely demise.
So what is the deal with Bela anyway? You can't
hostile him and he won't back you up in a fight.
In fact, he just gets in the way! Can he not
be bothered with mortal affairs?

12. "Cosmic view of things"
As he is the son of a Cosmic Lord, I'd guess that knowing what he knows about Phoonzang, he interferes as little as possible, lest like Phoonzang, he be stripped of power and cast out of the circle also.
