"Importing items..."
Hey everyone. I was, for the life of me, unable to import the CoC and the bard fireball horn. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? My Elven Bow imported quite happily but the CoC will not! ARGH!

I also heard that the Horn of Promethious(sp?) imports but I have been unable to get it in. I even started up Wiz7 and removed all items from my Ninja and Bard except for those 2 and nothing.

Also, my Monk will import the Spear of Death but not the Z-Bo. I've had the Spear since Wiz6 and I love it but I want the Z-Bo.

Lastly, my Val will not import the Mantra gloves nor boots. Any ideas on why? I don't plan on keeping the Val though since I want to try a Gadgeteer.

The items you can import from 7 to 8 are much more limited than from 6 to 7. None of the better armor or weapons import and only a couple of the bard instruments do (and the Horn is NOT one of them, though the Cornu of Demonspawn does). You can get just about any ammo to import and I managed to get multiple Moser's mojo teas in. I think the only reason the Elven Bow imports is because there isn't one in Wiz 8. There are two Z-bos that you can find -- one is fixed, the other is random. Unfortunately, it's going to be almost midgame before you are strong enough to survive in the area where either one is found. The CoC is also available in the game, though it will take a difficult fight to get it and you'll want to save beforehand in case the NPC doesn't drop it after all -- sometimes he doesn't. As for armor -- you can get the flak jackets and chamail+2 armor to import but that's about the highest protective gear you'll get.

I believe it is the Cornu Demospawn that imports, not the promethious horn.

The good stuff doesn't import. So I redressed my import teams in high-quality leather and I can always transfer enough to dress the front-line players.

Great Bow frequently imports, as do high-quality arrows and rocks and the Wrist Rocket. Be sure to divide the arrows and rocks into bundles of 10 (medusa stones) to 50 (barbed arrows, shrikes, etc) and distribute them among all players.

I have one team with a bard and 6 instruments that refuses to import. I may have to cut-and-paste the players from that savegame to another to discover the instrument rules.

Sword of Hearts (a cave near the City of Sky) Hayai Bo, Enchanted Broadsword (formerly Broadsword +1), Mystic Spear (formerly Spear +2), Mystery Ray, and Enchanted Bow all can be imported. Chromatic Lyre, Cornu of Demonspawn, Siren's Wail...

Thanks for all your help. You were right, the Cornu of Demonspawn is what imports. Oh well, that will have to do.

I also found the following Bard items to import:

Poet's Lute
Angel's Tongue
Chromatic Lyre
Lute of Sloth (I love the slow spell!)
Pipes of Doom
Cornu of Demonspawn

I found that only 4 of those would transfer with my bard. The lute and the Angel's Tongue I had to give to my FN to pass for me. Not one wand or stave would pass through using my FN. It seems that most of them are not found in the game so I can't pass them.

After much running around and equipping items to transfer (I had dropped all my good items in Paluke's shop) I found the following to also transfer. Please note that I didn't have all the good items since many of them I never found (random drops) and others I never even bothered with (what was I thinking?).

Elven Bow
Wrist Rocket
Robes +1 both U and L (my monk will have to survive with these for now)
Spear of Death
Midnight Cloak
No-Dachi (this one sucked since it was two handed and my Samurai was so low level, I wouldn't recommend transferring this one)
Kabuto (I can't believe I still had all this lame armor laying around)
Do-Maru both U and L
Stun Rod (2 of them and they kick ass with paralyze and drain stamina!)
Diamond Rings (I only had 5 of them since I sold a bunch to try and get some money in Wiz7)

The odd thing is that the Stun Rods are usable by Samurai (right-clicking and getting the info) but the Polearm skill is not available to them. If I equip my Sam with one, the skill appears with +5 in it and says that it is not available to the class. Weird.

I also tried to pass the Cameo Locket for any male RPC's that I pick up but it wouldn't transfer. I guess I need a male in order to transfer it. Oh well.

My current party is as follows (if anyone cares, hehe):

Faerie - Ninja
Felpurr - Samurai
Elf - Ranger
Dwarf - Monk
Elf - Bishop
Mook - Bard

In retrospect, I think I should have made the Samurai a Mook so I can use that Mook only sword. Does anyone know the stats on it? Also, the Dwarf Monk started out as an apprentice since he doesn't fit the stat requirements but now has double damage resistance. I wanted to change one of my characters to a Gadgeteer but I'm torn between which. This has been my party since Wiz6 (well, except all the class changes to max stats) and I don't want to lose any of them.

6. "Giant's Sword"
If you are asking about the stat-s of the Giant's Sword (Mooks only), here they are:

weight 35.0 lbs - deadly heavy!
Damage 9-33; +2 2hit; -2 2init
*extended*
+5 to str, +5 to resistance against earth
for fighters, lords, valkyries, rangers, and samurais (Mooks only!!!)

No wonder that the Mooks are so popular!

Thanks for the information above, I did not have a bard then, so I did not have all the instruments to import.

Giant's Sword is nice, but not great. My Mook Samurai used it
for a short time, but he's back to swinging two swords.

Other nice items that transfer are:

Jazeraint Tunic and Skirt (+9 AC)
Sai (3-11 dam. + critical)
Nunchaku (3-12 dam. + K.O.)
