About Software Specialties
(a.k.a. Rick Rice)

I've been a computer gamer since about 1978. Programming and other computer-related activities have been my profession since about 1987, starting with 5 years as a programmer in the U.S. Marine Corps. Yes, WizardryŽ VII is my all-time favorite computer game (followed closely by WizardryŽ, the first one).

What you can expect from Software Specialties

Free unlimited support via e-mail, for the Demo and Live Versions of all my products. So far, support has been virtually a 'non-issue'. Aside from a few needing to adsjust their screen resolution and one bad CD, there have been no problems. When problems do arise:

  • I usually respond within a few hours (weekdays)
  • Within 24 hours (on weekends – unless I’m away)
  • If e-mail support doesn't do it, the phone is always an option

Free upgrades via e-mail

  • Any enhancements, changes or should the need ever arise – bug fixes

And probably most important, I consider all information and correspondence confidential. I won't be selling your e-mail address (or any other information) to anyone – it stays with me.

What you can’t expect from Software Specialties

Sorry - no refunds. I have done my best to provide you with everything I can, to allow you to try it before you buy it. Between the screen shots, documentation and the Demo version (which is differs from the Live version only in that it does not allow you to save changes), you should have everything you need to decide if WizEdit is worth the money, to you. If you need more information, just ask.

Future plans

The success of WizEdit© has been a bit less than I had hoped for, but not discouraging. I imagine that if I knew then, what I know now .... But, that's life. So far the whole endeavor has left me well "in the hole" monetarily, but I have learned a great deal and got to meet (at least in via telephone and email) some of the major players. Behind the Wizardry® series. I am still planning on other Wizardry® related programs and utilities. I will probably try to put a whole package together, that comprises all of the work I have done and knowledge I have gathered, once Wiz 8 is released.

Of course, that would all be after I write a Character Editor for Wizardry 8, probably a year or two after it comes out.

But, all of this really depends on sales and input from you – what would you like to see next?
