"DOS Emulators for PDAs"
(This is where I go for technical issues about which I know nothing.)
I think back on the computer that took me through lawschool: a 386SX with 1M Ram and a 20M HDD. Not only did it help me prepare my papers and outlines, it's also where I originally played Bane and CODS.
I look at my little PDA (a Sony Clie): 16 M Ram, a memory stick that is several times the size of the old HDD. I don't know what sort of processor it has (and a little looking into this issue on the web has educated me at least to the point of understanding - at a high, theoretical level - that an XX Mhz palm processor is not nearly as fast as an XX Mhz DOS machine was), but I figure that it will be at least comparable to my old 386SX.
This leads me to the (ignorant) conclusion that if someone just had an emulator, we should be able to play wiz1 through 7 on our handhelds, no? (Okay, screen size would be an issue, but not an insurmountable one, and you could play wizardry ANYWHERE.)
Wo is me, no such emulator turns up in a google search.
Comments, anyone?

I think you would be better off looking for the Apple ]< version. [P>http://palmapple.sourceforge.net/

I think there are other emulators out there.

A while back I found the disk image for Wiz 1 but I can't find the bookmark. btw I have not tried to get this to work yet so I would appreciate it if you can report back if you do get it to work.

I would realy like to have Wizardy on my TT.

Yeah, there are apple emulators, NES emulators, Atari emulators, and several more for platforms I don't think I've ever heard of. At least some of these would allow me to run the basic wizardries (I-V), if I also went out and obtained the wizardry programs for those formats.
(I understand that is not too hard to do, although it may be of questionable legality. At least there, I can bring to play my own area of expertise - law - and argue that, as the owner of the Wizardry Archives, I have, in effect, a "license" to play wizardries I-VII in whatever format I can find them. NOTE: I am not saying this argument is a winner, only that it is one that immediately occurs to me when thinking about the legal aspects of this problem.)
Of course, what I really want is an emulator that will allow me to play my favorite wizies: Bane and CODS. (Shucks! Wouldn't we all like that? I can't believe that I would be alone in this.)

Try this: http://www.geocities.com/gcruces/index.htm

It didn't make any real sense to me, but I don't speak "palm"

Yeah, I saw this page in my own searches. If I understand it correctly, the writer got DOS emulation by first loading an Atari ST (to Palm OS) emulator (which, I assume, is an emulator for old Atari games) and using that to run a DOS (to Atari ST) emulator.
Golly, methinks, no one can emulate directly from DOS to Palm OS? Furthermore, look at the pathetic results: he could only run "plain old edlin and the command line pkzip." As I repeatedly confess, I'm not at all tech saavy, but this doesn't sound too impressive and makes me wonder if this arrangement could run even the basic wizardries (I-V), much less the ones I would really want: Bane and CODS. (And all of that assumes that an ignoramous like myself could even figure out how to implement this multi-multi-step process.)
I'm just a little amazed that while there appear to be several other emulators (to Palm OS) out there, no one seems to have bothered with doing one for DOS. (Or, in other words, "What about my needs?")

.. ya, I guess you could do that ... with the implied, dangling ... but why would you want to?

I know less about Palm Pilots than you - did you try PalmDOS?

If a "PocketPC" is equivalent to a Palm Pilot, then maybe this is your ticket: http://www.pocketdos.com/

I was ultimately able to run an emulator to play Wiz1 on my pda. However, it was painfully slow, and I removed it within the same day. Someone with your software expertise ought to be able to set up your crackberry, no problem.
