"New markers"
Is it just me, or do we now get "new" markers next to new messages in the thread hierarchy?

1. "It depends on how 'new'"
LAST EDITED ON May-11-00 AT 12:48 PM (Pacific)

It should always have worked this way, but I have my doubts as to how reliable it is. What the system attempts to do is denote the last post with a last file icon ()and all the previous ones with the white folder icon ().

But how accurate this thing is is suspect, since sometimes I see two or three last file icons, when viewing a thread. Thank goodness they are numbered

addendum - Looking at the prolific "class changin" post, I see that it looks more like it is marking today's message with the icon. So, in essence, ya, it does mark "new" messages in the hierarchical display.

Yes -- what you describe is the way its usually wroked for me -- but today I was getting a little "New" in a star icon next to new messages. I'll see if it keeps working in the future.

3. "Oh, that's an icon of a different color :)"
If you click on a message you get the view I described. If you click on a board (that has new messages) and use the view expanded mode, you will see what you describe.

When do these icons go away? Used to be that messages I had read lost their "new" indicators. Doesn't seem to work for me anymore. All the ones that were new when I came back on the board about a week ago are still marked, despite the fact I've opened them and no new messages have been posted.

Not Marc, the illustrious member of our board community. Until you select Mark (for a specific board), or Mark All (for all boards), messages will still show as such.
