"Erasthmedor's Treasure"
1. Can you steal (pickpocket) from Erasthmedor's treasure pile? I noticed a staff and gem that I picked up, but I suspect they came from Kol. Yet, there are many individual white dots in that area with the Spirit Eye spell on.

2. If you kill Erasthmedor, do you get any unique treasure? What level should one be to take him on. Nearsighted or not, he needs to pay for all those times he strafed me with his fire breath (although he hit Kol for 111 damage and killed him in one shot so my guys wouldn't last too long against him at this point).

Thx

Interesting question.
I thought about it myself, but sadly never tried.
The spirit eye spell DID make me very curious though...
Now that we're talking about being evil: Did anyone ever steal from Erathsmedor's blind friend? Did anyone dare open the chest in his small hut?
My paladin persuaded everyone not to

Raises hand!!

Both times through, I stole from Hepheastus. Nothing really interesting in them...mind you. Does the Paladin really warn you not too?? Not going to try that class then.

I bet you could kill Erathsmedor...but what would be the point and how many points would you get. Tell you what...I will go back and kill him after I win against Cet this time and will let you know.

3. "Paladin"
Sorry, it sounded like that:
No, my paladin didn't stop me from stealing from Hephaestus.
It's just that a paladin is supposed to be sooo very good and it simply didn't seem right to me to steal from the blind with a
paladin in my party.
(That's why I put the cute face behind the sentence)
Nevertheless DO try the paladin class. Once they reach a noteable guild lvl in either priest or fighter guild (I thibk it's lvl 6 but don't trust me on that) they'll be able to gein the special ability "Crusade".
It rocks!!!
You get double (DOUBLE!!) experience for killing undead.
Regarding the fact that in Shurgeon Castle, Skull Castle and inside Anepha's Shrine those are your main opponents it's REALLY worth it.

4. "RE: Paladin"
Hmmn...wonder which character I can change into a Paladin.

I have a Assassin (was warrior, then barbarian), a Barbarian (was warrior, will make into Samurai), a Valkrie (was warrior, then barabarian), a Ninja (was Rogue), a Priest (will be Zen Master at the end of this game), and a Warlock (was a Mage).

I will have to think on that some more. May have to make a new character and eventually make him into a Paladin.

I had my charactor (Byrd) a warrior, paladin, valkyrie. Seemed to work pretty well.

6. "RE: Erathsmedor's Treasure"
Well, I finally finished the main quest, so I went back through to wipe out the NPCs just to see what would have happened.

No treasure from Oakenmir, but like 6 levels for each character.
No treasure from Erasthmedor, either. I got back the shroud and had already pickpocketed Kol's staff (which is nothing special).
At this point, I don't know if I'll even bother going after Torin's bow (it's probably just a +1 longbow or he won't even leave it).

I got only one unique (for me) item from Cet's treasure -- a Kabuto with fire & ice resistance and +2 to hit bonus.

Looking back, there was nothing in this game like the Gorrors from CDS or even the progression of enemies at the end of Bane which netted you Maenad's Lance and Muramasa Blade.

Even more disappointing is that the big prizes of the game: the Mavin Sword and Kerah's Sword are about half as effective as a juiced up Tonomura Katana (sp?) or Robinsword. I found the Wizard's blade, Talon Fang, and Dagger +2 (all Daggers) to be preferable the special weapons. Also, once they gained second weapon, I was not tempted by any two-handed weapon as I was in CDS by Excalibur. Probably due to the lack of attack options (eg. melee, thrust, swing, etc).

One thing is for sure, it took me a lot of hours to get through this game and I did mostly enjoy it. Loading games and entering and exiting towns was pretty slow on my four year old computer, but the game was stable enough.

I've toyed with the idea of replaying this game, but I'm not sure if I'd do things much differently. I made some mistakes, such as selling the tome of fire for much needed cash early on and I failed to join my wizard-turned-warlock into the Priests guild so I never got the ability to enchant armor, but at the end, all the battles were easy anyhow. It was figuring out where I was on the map that caused me problems -- I never really had a feel for where I was in 3-D space so I never knew where I wanted to go.

Any comments on replayability?

Once you replay it, you get more interesting stuff. I just got a Mangler's Mace...this time through. This being my second time through. I am about to kill Cet and get another Kerah's Sword.

I will probably play it through one more time at least before I go onto or back to Wiz Gold.
