Walkthrough Notes from Valeia to N'HA
By John Hubbard

Created two warriors, two priests and two wizards. Changed one warrior immediately to a barbarian. Made use of the infinite doubling gold trick (enter town and inn, pool gold to a different character, then drop and re-add the player who had the gold) and the sneaking into all guilds trick (initiate a bridging class member quest, join the other guild, then drop the quest) for rapid advancement.

PATHS:

East of Valeia:
Got lock pick from thief circle and rat pie from dude in the shack. Entered graveyard crypt. Use bauble stick to fetch crystal to activate elevator. Ride ceiling of elevator up to top floor and read amulet inscription to statue. Choose wizard or warrior crystal to raise stairs and place figurine in basket. Kill Scab dude and exit via the tombs, where use underwater key by cristal to open tombs.

West of Valeia:
Deliver amulet to mill lady and visit gypsies.

North of Valeia:
Visit Toads and kill baddie swampos. Go through caves and show the fates the ring from the tomb.

Serpent Temple:
Enter around back, kill guardian wizard. Obtain four monkey totems and serpent figurine (room near guardian wizard, one of the six rooms opened with a coin and lever combinations, one carried by a monkey in the room with a small floor opening, and uh two more around the temple), place them in library to get serpent wand and book. Place coin in snake basket to get incense. Give prisoner his lock picks back and follow his instructions to get spider juice into an empty flask. Summon the snake, answer questions from library book, go through the head and kill her. Go around the maze, don't have to kill the priestess guard if you answer yes and no, and kill the final priestess for the skull.

Return to lake gypsies and give serpent wand for orb in basement.

QUESTS:

Warrior: Kill wandering rogue east of Valeia, visit the toads, retrieve sword from temple tomb

Temple: Deliver elixir to toad by millhouse, donate gold, return ring from top of elevator room in the crypt

Temple at N'Ha: Kill serpent priestess

Wizard: Kill scabb dude, kill serpent priest west of caves, return orb from gypsy basement.

Town: Collect skulls, kill wandering troll, deliver message to N'Ha hall

Shoppe at N'Ha: Collect 10 serpent coins

GRIPES:

Make sure people talking (or gesturing in town lol) to you finish before answering or moving on to another player. Otherwise you can forever miss out on rewards or conversation.

You have to play ranged combat (and some spells you don't want to go off at close range) as an arcade, and there's no indicator if an enemy is out of range.

Going down ladders? If there's a way besides jumping its not intuitive.

Game stopping bugs: Freezes in D3D mode (for me at least), frogger blocks your path who you must talk and lure or kill with one shot.

Bizarre quest interactions between different party members in the same guild. I had to deliver six potions to the hard-to-click-because-he's-jogging toad, and now have six arrows to give to some samurai. Plus if you complete the quest before having it assigned, you're outte luck. WTF. The entire questing system does not work with a party system - the level of statistics intricacies entails this really should have been a single character game to avoid silly overlapping conversations and tasks. It's the chosen "one" who people talk to, not a pary of six who somehow all fit on a horse.

1. "Oops - forgot the Role changing quests"
I dropped the Bard role from my plans - they can play magical musical instruments, but that's about it. The whole lock picking thing is met by the barbarian, plus the vine Pry spell I'm using more often anyway (not as good as BT's Trap Zap, but it works).

Barbarian:
Kill twenty monsters.

Monk:
Survive alone and unarmed in the wilderness for two game days.

Paladin:
Say "Sanctus Holy" to the statue near the Nymph lake house.

Ranger:
Retrieve an egg after killing a raptor in a little nook on the west bank of the center of the body of water west of Valeia. The lizard only appears after initiating the quest.

Warlock:
Retrieve a skull from killing a skeleton (crypt and cemetery), and a spider egg (millhouse and serpent temple).

So now my party is:

Warrior > Barbarian > Paladin ( > to become Zenmaster)
Warrior > Ranger ( > to become Valkyre)
Priest > (> to become Samurai > Assassin)
Priest > Warlock > (> to become Samurai)
Wizard > Warlock (> to become Ranger)
Wizard > Monk (> to become Warlock)

Did you already kill Scabban? If you did, then you should switch the lever in the eastern (as far as I remember) room, jump into the water and swim to sth like an underground river. There you will see closed tombs. You are now on the other side of the grating near Rethpian, and you can take the key from the water. Use it to open tombs, swear the Sacred Oath, take the ring form Nivius, and switch the lever under water to open the grating. Now you can easily get out of the Crypt.
