"How do To Hit bonuses work?"
Does anyone know how success in combat strikes is calculated? I'm interested in what those "To Hit" bounuses on rare weapons specifically do for you.

I'd love to know the exact formula as well. I believe the factors involved are strength, level, and weapon.

Almost every weapon gives a bonus to thac0 (or whatever you want to call it). For example, short swords raise your attack rating by three, long swords boost it by four, and the Muramasa Blade elevates it by eight. These stats apply to the NES version, which is a mostly faithful port.

The To Hit bonuses are part of a complex scheme to rule the mad overlords kingdom. You must not participate in this elaborate web of lies and mad cap hijinks. I love you.

What was that all about? To hit bonuses work to increase the chance of defeating the opponents AC. The formula is more complex than the old D&D standard. Wizardry is known for it's complexities in the formulations for hitting, damage, exp points, etc.

My real reason for writing is one of mystery and magic. I cannot say where the stones are thrown nor where the satchel of goodness shall land me or my kin. I would like to say for all you snickers that I'm a real boy and I can think like one to.
