2. "RE: There was one ..."
i found it wiz-cheat

character Editor, version 0.1a by Dark Fiber

For Wizardry
============
Wizardry I : Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord
Wizardry II : The Knight of Diamonds
Wizardry III : The Legacy of Llylgamyn

Requirements
============
This program is a character editor for the Wizardry Archives
save disk images for Wizardry I, II and III. You MUST have
the WizArchives versions else I garuntee the liklyhood of
working is very slim.

Games
=====
This works on Wiz1 to 3 only. Wiz IV does not revolve around using
a party as it does with other Wiz's, instead you recruit a bunch of
monsters. The save format differs for WizIV as opposed to I-III.

WizV uses a slightly different format for saveing characters than
I to III does and hence, is unsupported by this editor.

Beta
====
This version of the editor is an alpha state. I do not have a
complete item list for wizIII which i need to finalise the wizIII
editor functions.

Create character is also broken (if it is even still in the editor)
and only creates characters on par with WizI created characters so
using it to make chars for WizIII is useless unless you bump their
info up.

Unimplemented
=============
Currently not implemented is the ability to edit characters awards
(chevrons, etc) that you get completeing each game.

As written above, the WizV editor is not part of this cheat engine
(and I dunno if I will have time to decode the save format of wizV,
depending on how similar/different it is.)

Game Identification
===================
Games are identified by a string contained within the save game disk image
and a certain offset (the game name). If this string matches at a known
offset, that game is assumed to be on that save disk image.

Wiz1 id string = "PROVING GROUNDS OF THE MAD OVERLORD!", location 0x1D400
Wiz2 id string = "THE KNIGHT OF DIAMONDS" location 0x1CE00
Wiz3 id string = "THE LEGACY OF LLYLGAMYN" location 0x1DA00
Wiz4 id string = "THE RETURN OF WERDNA" location 0x0F400
Wiz5 id string = "HEART OF THE MAELSTROM" location 0x25800

These offsets and id's match *MY* version of the Wizardry Archives.
If you have a save disk image that does not work, zip it up and send
it to me and I will add it to the version detection routine.
