Garion -ur (28 posts) Apr-24-01, 01:41 PM (Pacific) "Underwater helms (Collasium)" I do remember having found some underwater masks once, but currently I only possess the one I bought in town. I survive down in Collasium using Breath of Air spell every minute or so, but it is very annoying and I still have to find a place to rest every quarter or half hour. Is there a good trick or some place where you can surely find, buy or steal underwater helms? It would make this place a lot more fun, I hate getting killed, because a chest was so exciting that I forgot the casting part...   Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Ladybug -ur (9 posts) Apr-24-01, 04:10 PM (Pacific) 1. "RE: Underwater helms (Collasium)" You will need an underwater breather to go with each underwater helm. You will need both for every character that you send to Collasium. First you must go crab hunting in The Enchanted Sea. Try various coves along the edge of the water, or try underwater. Pickpocket 3 crab shells off of three crabs before you kill them. Then take the 3 crab shells to the ship builder in town to get one underwater breather. When you have one set, equip them on your character who has pickpocket. Now send him out crab hunting. He will now be able to stay underwater to find crabs. When you get 3 more shells you can go to the shipbuilder and get another breather and helm. Now you can send two characters crab hunting underwater, or send two characters to Collasium. I continued hunting until I had 6 sets. Be sure to turn up your respawn rate so there will be more crabs out there.   Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Slim (Guest) (3 posts) Jul-13-01, 09:03 AM (Pacific) 3. "RE: Underwater helms (Collasium)" If you have some time to invest you can breath water for a long LONG time. Like the shipyard geezer says, you can collect 3 crab shells (from any type of crab) and he'll pay you 200 gold. On top of that, with the shells he'll create Underwater Breathers, which are conch shell size and are equipped in your second hand. He'll also create more of those handy underwater breathing masks. I'm not sure if 3 shells makes one Breather or more. Anyway I've found the best way to get these shells is to temporarily set the enemy strength to easy and the spawn frequency to often. Then I turn on Spirit Eye and sail around looking for immobile targets, which are probably crabs or sharks. The red dots that zip around are generic fishies. Once I find what I think is a crab, I dive into the water, and if it is, I hack it up. Since it's on easy mode you can kill it no prob. I think there's a 50/50 chance it will drop a shell when it dies, so if it doesn't, keep trying. Yeah, it's a pain. Anyway, wear both the underwater helmet and Underwater Breather, and you'll notice when you swim, you'll have PLENTY of time to explore before having to resurface.   Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
