"Enchanting Armor, etc."
I have a warlock with level 7 enchants skill and the artifact spells in Stone, Sun, and Fiend. Yet, the only enchants I can get are to add spells to weapons and resistances to armors. I cannot yet add damage to weapons, or increase armor rating on armor. Also I have a monk with level 6 bless and both vine and spirit artifacts. she can only add regen, tough, and 'to hit" to armor and weapons.

Anyone give me an idea of what is missing? Do I need the Moon spell or is the problem that I'm still in Isad N'Ha and have to be in Brimloch to get these other enchants/blessings.

I'm pretty well into the middle part of this game and I find myself enjoying it while playing, but I don't really have an attachment to my characters or to the game, at all. Right now, I've spent the last few sessions wandering around the stout mines apparently looking for spare parts to make the other trolley work, but the automap leaves me pretty confused about whether there are places I haven't been yet or if I've just missed something. Who knows. The other thing is the lack of epic battles. The battle with the mantraps in the boogre caves was great and it took 3 or 4 times to win and I felt like it had me thinking the whole time. Other than that, the only time my guys are in danger is if I get on an elevator wrong and get crushed to death (which happens every couple of days). I haven't felt at risk in a battle in a while. I'd love to be attacked on multiple fronts or in some creative way to actually jeopardize my guys (without outright killing them before action is even possible as in the first mantrap encounter!)

I'd appreciate any pointers on the enchants thing and any feedback on whether the game changes in the areas around the final town or not.

Thanks
Rich

Not sure, as this is my second time through and my first time with a Warlock. But I suspect that you are probably going to need the Moon spells, in order to get what you are looking for.

If you need help in fixing the trolly to make it work, I can help you with that. I also have a great place to go to, if you need some clues.

Did you put your game setting to difficult?
I had to restart the game due to a computer crash and my second party is a lot tougher than my first, but meeting mantraps or later on red dragons in RANDOM encounters gets you going.
They also trapped me once or twice, coming from back and front a the same time making it rather difficult to escape.
However most foes are no all too serious challenge to my party.
Than again - I kind of like it. I sometimes hate it in Baldur's Gate or so when you got a party of Demi-Gods (lvl 16+) and are nearly killed by a band of marauding bandits. Hello??
So it's okay that the superheroes wielding the Mavin don't die around every corner. Well - at least that's what I think.

Red dragons?? I never saw those in the first go around. I wonder if you have to set your setting to "difficult" to see them. Hmmm...may have to try that this time around, as the battles are WAY to easy in "normal" mode.

4. "RE: tougher combats"
I indeed put the setting to difficult.
Though it doesn't change anything about monster respawn being high and monster difficulty being high, it seems to have changed the monsters you fight against.
Many I have never seen before
Some kind of faeries or wisps is especially tough. They can cast Elemental Blast and Reflection (!!!), but only give you 1200 exp each (??).
Anyway an encounter with 6 of them was the first time since the very beginning of the game that a party member died...

Changed the monster types to "hard" last night, but I still haven't seen anything new yet.

Yeah, I fought those fairies the first time through...over on the Isle of Sands. Haven't seen them in the Stout Mines yet?

Would've been rather shocking to see them in the stout mines.
I'd also guess that a red dragon would kill your party rather easily at that time - no offense intended, of course.

At that time..yes.

But now I have a level 22 Priest, 2 level 10 barbarians...who had been level 21 Warriors. a level 11 Valkrie...who had been a level 21 Warrior, a level 10 Warlock...who had been a level 22 Mage, and a level 7 Ninja...who had been a level 21 Rogue.

Gees, I always changed on lvl 10 or 12,
my highest right now is 17, but all are in their third or fourth class...

9. "RE: tougher combats"
Yeah, Marc told me to try the game without changing classes...so I tried that the first time through. This time through, I wanted a Warlock and a Ninja, so I changed them.

Next time through...I am going to try the ZenMaster approach and probably write a walkthrough with the different classes and stuff that you can find and all the other jazz.

10. "Zen master approach"
What do you mean by zen master approach?
Can you restart the game playing zen master from the very beginning or do you simply want to cherish a character so he'll make an awesome zen master - such as my ex-wizard-warlock-monk who now has lvl 7+ ability in all spell areas

11. "RE: Zen master approach"
When you collect all 4 elemental books...finish the game and then change one of your characters into the Zen Master, once you make it back to the town you can change into the ZenMaster. That is what I did when I changed one of my characters into a Valkrie.

Then all you have to do is, hit restart adventures from the game options and replay the game from the beginning again. It is quite fun and not as easy as it was in the crypt...but it allowed me to do a little more exploring this time. I tried the crypt with both the Warriors Path and the Wizards Path...to see which one that I liked.

12. "RE: Figured it out...bad news"
Last night I finally realized that my Warlock could join the Priest's guild (14 levels ago). She most likely would've picked up Cabalist/Bless at the Temple in Ishad N'Ha by completing those temple quests. As it is, she is not likely to get the bless skill until very near the end of the game. This means that I'll have a character with 4 Artifact spells, very high enchant, but no ability to add AC to armor or add damage to weapons. Is this actually how one gets the ability to perform those enchants, by having them Blessed at the Temple by someone possessing Artifact of Fiend and Bless (vs. artifact of Fiend and enchant which allows you to add magic resistance to armor but doesn't do anything for weapons)

This is the third "mistake" I've made in this game:
1. sold the Tome of Fire for the money to buy guild advancement early in the game when money was scarce and I had no idea what the book could be useful for.
2. sold the Assassin's Dagger (without identifying it, after all, it looked just like the Skull Dagger I had experimented with earlier)after killing Scanthril (he had to die, he kep threatening me).
3. and now this missing the Priest's guild for the Warlock. This is the one that bugs me most. I'm sorry but I just don't see a connection between Warlock and the Temple in this game -- although I had been quite peeved for a while that my Wizard/Warlock only had one guild.

13. "RE: Figured it out...bad news"
If you kill Scanthril before he gives you the Assassin's Blade for killing Raskallion, then when you pick the blade off the ground it won't be the Assassin's blade, just a simple Skull Blade. I know, because I tried this approach last time through and tried to become a assassin by killing Scanthril and picking his treasure clean. NO dice!!
