Per his posts in this thread, he says it does nothing. In another post, Elrond seemed to think it was able to be scribed into your spell book, but didn't recall which spell it would give you. The difference being that the lodestone (in CoDS) was always intended to be useless, while IMHO the lynx ring (also in Bane) and the Book of Poetry were actually intended to be useful, but because of programming bugs, they don't do anything. While I haven't yet figured out what the lynx ring was supposed to do, as I note in the post that llevram points to, when I played around with the book of poetry and made it "equipable," it would raise intelligence when invoked. ogre -ur (0 posts) Feb-16-01, 12:41 PM (Pacific) 3. "RE: Book of Poetry - Revisited" i "use" the book. EG: when I meet with Saeron (after saving my game) I like to know what she has for personal items. I use the Book of Poetry and when I go to Fight her instead of her calling up a hundred thousand faeries and conjuring/creating bunches of monsters she just stands there. Alone. Waiting. I think the Book bored her to death. I have only used this on the Females it does'nt work on males. By the way Saeron has the "ring of delphi". worthless but definitely dangerous (+8 regen and a bad AC, cursed too if i remember right. This is the libraries computer.
