"Ethical Quandary"
Hello, y'all.

I have a philosophical question:

Ignoring the bugs in doubling character gold at the inn, etc., there seems to be ways to boost gold infinitely that are NOT bugs, but seem to be deliberate.

The Takehatsu arrow trick, which I haven't seen anyone refer to, but surely the rest of you must have discovered (I know I ain't that creative), seems very deliberate, since the prices presented by Torin, Master Wu, and the Armory are all different.

(Just in case someone hasn't discovered this yet, purchase a set of Takehatsu arrows from Master Wu for 450 GP, then sell 'em to the Armory for something like 1650 GP. Repeat indefinitely for infinite money.)

My question is, is this cheating? Because if it was written into the game that way, maybe it's a reward for joining the Bushi Guild ...

Or am I merely justifying at this point? At the very least there should probably be a law of diminishing returns as to how much money you can make on this transaction ...

Any thoughts?

Are you doing this with the merchant skill, or whatever it was called? There were quite a few items in the game where, using the merchant skill, I could easily make money in this way -- I think the rulebook even suggests this as a benefit of the skill!

Well, since you ask, I imagine you have the ethical dilemma If you have to ask someone, it is like us saying go ahead, it is not stealing, no one is looking

We have had similar discussions many a time regarding Wiz 7 (about abusing the system, what is cheating, ...). In the single player environment, it all comes down to you and what makes the game most enjoyable for you. Whether that is playing it straight, playing it by the broken rules, or editing in what you think should have been there.

Of course, if you are just asking do you think they meant to do that or is it a flaw in the game logic ... I would guess the latter.
