4. "RE: Wizardry&Divinity *PLEASE HELP*" |
Oooh did you do bad!!! Bishops are ideally only used best if you've played the game a few times!!! As a newbie you often fall into the trap of saying "Ooh a bishop will be good, he can learn all spells". Power-training a skill is a tricky situation, some frown upon it some suport it. I fall into the latter. The first thing to know is that if a spell falls into two realms then only the higher of the realms is increased upon a successful cast. Power training is best done using Charm for Divinity Mindread for Psionic and Knock Knock for either Wizardry or Alchemy depending on you preference. (I prefer alchemy). Power-training should you not be aware of it is castin a spell over and over again to increase a stat. A little boring but necessary in your case as your bishop should be running the show by now!! To learn a spell you need to have a certain skill and be a certain level. The levels are 1, 3, 5, 8, 11, 15, and 18 for spell levels 1-7 respectively. The skill needs to be 1, 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, and 90 for levels 1-7. However the skill is a little more complicated. The skill is worked out as the total skill which is the spell book skill, (Wizardry Divinity Psionic or Alchemy) plus ten percent (rounded down) of the realm skill (fire air water earth mental or divine). So you see at level 12 you should be able to learn level 5 spells, (of which there are some real good ones!!!). My guess is that you've been putting skill points into the realm skills, a bad idea as only 10% of this counts towards your total skill level. put your skill points into the spellbooks, and let the realm increase through combat. hopefully by power-training you can get back on track. Stu.
