It helps to know what kind of characters you have, what level, etc. As with most battles, if you can use the terrain to your advantage it usually helps (i.e. if they surround you it is must worse, than if you only have top fight one or two at a time). Insanity, Pandemonium, Toxic Cloud, Firestorm, Acid Bomb, and Death Cloud work wonders. Buffing spells for battle Bless and Haste give you an edge.
