"Giant Silver Nugget and the Diamond"
The GIANT SILVER NUGGET was acquired in the mines outside where you meet Trantis (T'Rang) and the DIAMOND was acquired by defeating the rogues that robbed the Arnika bank.

I don't need an in depth answer or anything.

GIANT SILVER NUGGET: this thing weighs 250 lbs and I know I can get 30k for it from at least one merchant -- is this item used for anything of importance (item creation, quest, anything else) or can I get rid of it now?

DIAMOND: I haven't gotten back to Arnika with this yet so I don't know what happens but the same question for it too, is there any use for it later on in item creation?

1. "RE: Giant Silver Nugget and the Diamond"
Silver nugget is a quest item ... you can stow it until you find out what for, rather than drag it all over the world with you.

You can do what you want with the diamond ... it is not needed later. How you dispose of it may vary on how you acquired it, or your conscience.

Okay.. more info on the diamond needed..

To save the world, I need the Astral Dominae. To get that, I need to fork over 99 thousand (or was it 999 thousand?) to the rattkin.

I'd love to give the diamond back to the bank, and receive the generous 1000 silver reward.. but then, He-li is willing to give me 9000 silver for it. Hmmmmm.

Is there anyone that will give me more for the diamond, than He-li?

4. "Prices Vary, Weight can be Free"
If your Communication Skill is higher, you can get more. One merchant you meet later (Ferro) will deal with you at "perfect" prices if you complete the Templar bit. But it doesn't matter that much, 10k is the most you can get for the diamond, and He'Li is the fairest merchant for a while.

If you carry the Nugget around as your cursor, it's weightless.

5. "Non-monetary options"
You don't necessarily have to pay for the Astral Dominae ...

I'm already about to do the dishonest deed and sell it instead of returning it.. there's only so much bad karma I can spread around

7. "Karmic deeds ..."
Yes, well if you steal what is already stolen, does that make for bad karma (especially if you are doing it for good, to save the world and all).

Or just kill him and take it ... then it is not really, technically, stealing

8. "RE: Karmic deeds ..."
I WAS just going to sell it to He'li, then I started thinking.. wonder if I can steal it back.. then I felt bad about it (I like getting involved in RPG's this way).. then I find out the little whore is trying to extort money out of me because I'm working for the T'Rang AND Umpani!

It's decided. I'm going to sell it to He'li and do my hardest to steal it back, and then I'll go sell it to someone else.

Also, I'm going to pay the extortion money but I'm curious what happens if I don't?

10. "Coining money.."
Your Alchemist or person with alchemy skills can mix potions to make money. Believe me, you can make a LOT OF MONEY doing this.

... I was talking about the AD, and the ridiculous asking price (especially for "hot" goods )
