I finished Bane a week ago, chose the "let them live and fly
with Bela" ending and managed to import my six berserks with the
four guardian goodies, the ebony heaume and a displacer cloak.
Too sad the water wings won't import I also tried the Skull
Dagger, who mysteriously turned into a Poison Dagger, although
I remember vividly, that the Ratkin Leaders would throw
some Skull Daggers with great effect at my party. They are still present in W7, but can't be imported. When I first played W7 I always wanted to get this particular item into my greedy claws, and I really looked forward to using it in W7 the very moment I discovered it in W6, but alas, it won't work.
Another funny thing I noticed during a futile battle with some Mind Flayers: soon the lot of my people were rendered helpless and insane, and my only survivor Crowis, the Samurai, was responsible for the following screen output:
Crowis melees Muramasa Blade
at Crowis
Hit!
head for 30 damage
Crowis dies

So Dracula isn't the only case of suicide in Bane

Has anyone ever used the Levitate spell in Bane? You need it only in the earlier part of the game (when you grab the idol and at the altar), but by then I wasn't far enough advanced to learn it. I planned to classchange rather often to get for every character every skill, but I was surprised to finish the game with a level 12 Samurai who never changed (except before the last meeting with Rebecca) and the rest of the party between level 10-12. Compared with W7, it's only 1/10 the length. So Osadir, my Priest/Fighter, is the only one in W7 without the ability to hide... poor schmuck

As a brief resumée, I liked The Bane of the Cosmic Forge for its fairytale atmosphere (better than W7), the sometimes not-so-easy riddles (I especially liked the dwarfen engineers' riddle) and the awesome animations (also better than W7, I think). The Tarantulas would climb the walls, Dark Crusaders and Mind Flayers would vanish except a sword or a pair of eyes, Knights of Death would turn into stone and you would see the rigged green tail of a goblin or gremlin when they jump you (I like their laughter, nahahaha); Rats would hop around and Ninjas would make their ninjaroll. In W7, the opponents are more or less motionless and only when they attack some movement is visible.
AND the steering with the keyboard is MUCH easier in W6 than in W7, where you have to remember the first letter of each spell realm and wouldn't suffice with the arrow keys and enter. I still couldn't figure out how the change the marching order in W7 with keys.

Ah, one last thought: when you have dropped the Silver Cross and talk with Rebecca after the loss of Dracula, she asks: Is he gone? One would expect an answer which says "yes" or "no", but if you want the Diamond Ring you have to reply "I love you". This is a quite dadaistic way of talking, as if you'd ask "Is it raining?" and get an answer like "I'd rather eat chocolate cake than cherry pies."

Anyway, I liked the game very much and want everyone to know that
