"Couple of quick Q's"
Hi there - thanks for all the help given so far - hopefully soon I'll know enough to begin to help others...

Just a couple of quickies..

1.) At what level will my lord become powerful enough to read the spell book that will give him the identify items spell? I've been carrying that and knock knock spell book around for ages. I mean the spells are only level two and my lord is about level 9-10. I appreciate that the spell level and character levels are different scales though.

2.) It'll take a fair bit of stat raising but is it worth swapping my lord to a bard once I've got the spells (or even a fighter?) or would it be better to keep him training so that he can get remove curse and remove disease spells? Currently I have no way of getting rid of disease.

3.) Is there anywhere that you can get hold of a world map in the game? At the moment I either wander around blindly looking for places or have to resort to looking on a website, which feels a bit cheaty. If I ask anyone in game they either don't answer or give a really useless answer.

Many thanks!
(and ok, so that was three questions, not a couple, but what's a question amongst friends?)

1. "Couple of quick A's"
1. You have to be L7, AND have a total of 15 as a result of Divinity Skill + 10% of Mental Skill to learn ID. As a Lord, you cannot learn Knock-Knock.

2. Stay a Lord. Use two weapons. (best in game Swd + Mace) Your Dual Wield bonus makes your primary weapon better if you have a secondary once your bonus puts the skill over 100. And you get the nice high-level Priest spells. Practise up your Magic skills.

3. No map.

2. "#3 - discovery"
Once you have explored, and been around Dominus once or twice, you get a feel for where things are. You can place markers (i.e. in the game, you can write notes on maps) on your maps, to show what areas they lead to.

In the manual there is a map of Dominus. With this map, you can at least find all the major places you are visiting or that the NPCs are talking abount.

The map looks like this, by the way: http://www.flamestryke.com/wizardry8/townportalw8.html

Doh! Should have thought to check if there was one in the manual... under my nose all this time!
