I have 12 lv rogue and I had about 30 in pickpocket. After pocketing everyone in arnika I have pickpocket about 90, I have very good equipment - amulet of health 2x, ravens bill, spear of death,mantis gloves and lots of rings,armor,weapons and potions. I can't sel it, but I'm so good equiped. I can say, that rogue is very good character to play in my party. (6+1). With 2 thief daggers and 62 in stealth and 12 in reflection is almost as good in fight as fighter and she has best AC. And she can shoplift all items with prize below 6000-8000. I can recomend. PS: I'm thinking to change for a while 2-3 lvto samurai to learn critical hits and samurai and fighter switch to rogue to learn stealth. I found, that if game writes that there is nothing to pickpocket, that isn't always true. And after some time, they has new things.   Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

I can pickpocket the business owners, but have not been able to do the regualr populace. My rogue has a 39 pickpocket skill and an amulet giving another 10% (total 49 functional skill). I had been having trouble picking pockets until recently, and have not been successful in "shoplift" although I haven't tried it recently. Do you need a higher skill level to selectively shoplift? I have the problem of the delayed mouse (cursor jumps across the screen, is a real pain sometimes but I just go with it...). For example, stopping Higardi patrol, they say something then keep going. "RE: I love pickpocket" afaik, you must be able to initiate conversation to be able to pp someone. oh, and yer cursor problem? have you tried going into your hardware acceleration window? if you move the slider one notch to the left, it takes care of hardware mouse problems (most noticeably, drunken or jumping cursor like you describe). give it a try. As for likelihood to successfully pickpocket, does anyone else have this experience: from my experience so far in wiz 8, seems my first few tries make it, then I start becoming unsuccessful, then I start repeatedly getting caught. Doesn't matter if I am buying things or not - it seems the chances become steadily reduced with successive tries. I do not save those in which I am caught, I reload - but I do save the ones that are unsuccessful attempts not caught since I noted that it contributes to my skill increasing. How does the shoplift function work differently? I haven't done this successfully (yet) but haven't tried too much - haven't been too particular on what I get. "Pickpocket basics" (I think same hjolds true for shoplifting) If you find that things "go missing" from your house, every time a certain friend has been around .... you might catch on that there is a correlation. Same thing in the game, it is getting more difficult, because they are starting to suspect you and are watching you more closely.
